At Last Summer Has Arrived!!!

At last summer has arrived in the UK and we have had three glorious days of sunshine, so I have been able to get in the garden.  I did have time to make this card though inspired by the fabulous weather and using my new Picnic set from Hero Arts, thanks again Heather.  I shall be entering this into this months Hero Arts challenge.

Here are a few shots of part of my garden, although the weather has been terrible my pots have done really well and the geraniums are spectacular!

I will be making the most of the sun as it looks like its on the change again next week.

Another teachers thank you card.

I am so busy at school as its the last week of term, its been so tiring that as soon as I get in all I want to do is put my feet up in front of the TV.  Too tired even to craft so I am sharing a card I made to submit to a magazine, unfortunately it was rejected, so here we are another Teachers thank you.  The theme the magazine wanted us to use was "Use your sentiments in an unusual way"  I thought this fitted the bill perfectly but obviously it wasn't what they were after!!

 On Sunday we went to visit Francesca in Taunton, she has just passed her course and is now a qualified teacher.  I am one proud mum!!!  We took her out for a meal in Glastonbury and then decided to climb the famous Tor.  Here are a few photos...The view from the top is spectacular!  It wasn't a very bright day but at least it didn't rain.

I hope to make some cards next week, I can't wait for the holidays!!

Thank You Teacher!!

  Its nearly the last week of term in the UK and when I made this card for the flickr sketch challenge at "A Blog Named Hero" I thought it would make a great thank you card for a teacher!!
I have used some scraps that I had for this , I always feel good after using a few scraps...

I have also just got my first Die Namics dies and I love them, they cut the card so well and such intricate designs too!  I am having fun playing with them at the moment, watch this space.....

A special commission.

Just a quick post today with a commission I received from someone at work, she just wanted a white card and in the shape of the letter A.  I had fun with this.

This was quite hard to photograph the white just fooled the camera!!   I have stamped the card with the Hero Arts leaf and floral background and embossed in white then just added lots of vellum butterflies and pearls.

Just a quick post today as I am so busy, its nearly the end of term just this week and next week to go and then I have a seven week holiday!!! can't wait, I just hope the weather cheers up so I can do all the things I have planned!!

Water colour Hydrangea!

I have found a new challenge over at the Stampalot blog and decided to have a go this months, the title is "Your Crafty Passion" and my passion is I love to layer up my stamps and I also love distress inks and emboss resist.  Here is my card using four Hero Arts stamps.  The background is the Newspaper stamp I have then stamped the frame on top.  Next I stamped the Poetry background stamp on piece of paper and embossed in white. I distressed with Tea dye ink then inked the Hydrangea stamp with Rusty Hinge and Bundled sage, spritzed with water and stamped on the script.  I cut out the centre of the frame and adhered it to the frame image on my card.  Lastly I added the butterfly.  Definitely not a CAS card but I can't resist a busy card!!

Another wet day here, wish the summer would arrive...

Sketch challenge..

Just a quick card for the sketch challenge at the flickr site of A Blog Named Hero.  I am not keen on sketch challenges but decided to have a go.

A very simple card using the Hero Arts newspaper background and the Italian Poetry stamp with scraps of Basic Grey paper.

I am busy getting ready for my craft stall at the weekend, looking forward to it looks as if  the weather is  going to be OK .

Silhouette Trees.

Last week I was lucky enough to win the Hero Arts "Nature's Silhouettes" set of stamps from ebay at a bargain price and of course I couldn't wait to ink them up and have a play.  This was my first attempt, a very CAS card made with just the stamp and Distress inks but I love the effect.  I have entered this into the current Hero Arts Challenge.

 Next I decided to make a card set,  I am having a craft stall at the school fair in a few weeks and these sets are always popular.  I tried to match the ink colours to the seasons, so the Autumn one is reds, and oranges, the winter, blues, the spring greens and the summer which you can't see is warm oranges.

 Once I started I couldn't stop and this is another set using the same stamps but this time I have kissed them with the Music Background stamp from Hero Arts, such a pretty effect.
                                                   

Here are all four cards, not the best photo to show the"kissing" as on the darker cards it is very subtle especially the winter one.

After weeks of awful weather here in the UK at last we have a sunny day so I am spending the rest of it in the garden, hope you have a fun weekend.

Christmas in June!!!!

Oh my goodness I can't believe I have made my first Christmas card in June...  The challenge over at "A 
Blog Named Hero" is to use the "Kissing Technique"  and after I had played around with a few stamps, this background was my favourite using my  Hero Arts Friend definition stamp and the leaf and floral background.  The silver and red together immediately made me think Christmas and this is the resulting card. The poinsettia is made using a sizzix die, the petals have been dry embossed using a herringbone embossing die for texture, I have also used lots of Old Paper distress ink.

Summer........

This is the inspirational photo for this weeks challenge at The Simon Says Blog,  gorgeous summer colours so I had to play along.  We are still having a really wet and windy time here in the UK at the moment so it was great to play with some warm colours.

I had fun creating the centre panel using my distress inks with water and the Meadow Silhouette stamp from Hero Arts. I have also embossed the edges with gold for a glimmer, the butterfly is also embossed in gold.  The background stamp is my new Italian Poetry stamp, just love the script.

Polka Dots!

Its been a few weeks since I had time to play over at the Cas-ual Friday challenge blog, but with the Euro football tournament on the TV, I am going to be playing with lots of challenges in the next few weeks!!

This weeks challenge is to make a card using polka dots, here is my simple card using the HA cling dots background stamp and a flower from the large flower background stamp that I have coloured with copics.  I have also run the card base through swiss dots embossing folder.  I haven't added a sentiment yet, I will add that at a later date, when I know what occasion I am using it for..
