Siver and White!

This was a simple card to make using the Facetted Snowflake embossing folder from Simon Says embossed in white card spread with some Stickles.  I then added the silver glitter die cut Simon Says snowflakes.

The Sentiment is Hot Foiled and I just added some pearls and silver wire, resulting in a very sparkly card.

Also the Die Cut Divas challenge blog, which this month is "Anything Goes"

This was such an easy card to make that I will be making more to add to my card stash as I know it maybe raided very soon by my daughter!

Have a great weekend, its raining and windy here so I hope you are having brighter weather.

Lets Squash it Challenge

The challenge over at the 'Lets Squash it" blog this month is "Trees and Leaves" and although I don't have any tree embossing folders, I do have lots with leaves on. My only solution was to use this Memory Box house and trees die and use my Altenew "Garden Harmony" embossing folder.

I cut the tree die and coloured with alcohol markers then layered up onto some white card, layering again onto some patterned paper. I then added my green embossed layer and a foiled "congrats" the rest of the sentiment is computer generated.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Embossing!

The new challenge over at the "Lets Squash it" blog is "Grasshopper Green" You have to use an embossing folder, the colour green and include an insect.

For my card I have used my new Altenew embossing folder called Garden Harmony which I have embossed in white and carefully rubbed over various green and yellow ink pads. I also added two die cut branches from the SSS Arched Leaf set, the die cut butterfly is also a Simon Says die. I added the gold sentiment onto vellum and attached to the card .

I will also add this card to the Simon Says Flickr challenge "Anything Goes".

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

White and Gold!

After making the green tree shaker card I decided to make this white and gold one for a more elegant design.

I die cut the tree and then ran the card through my Tim Holtz snowy edge folder, I also added some glimmer paste to the edge to give the card lots of shimmer.

I added gold sequins behind the shaker element and then added more trees using the same Chunky tree die from Simon Says.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Really pleased with this card , I will definitely make this again in other colours. I am adding this card to both the Die Cut Divas challenge of "Anything Goes" and the SSS Flickr group challenge "Emboss it"

Hope you are enjoying your week, I am getting stronger by the day and managed a 3 mile walk at the weekend!

Little Easter Boxes!

I decided to make these table treat boxes for Easter that can be filled with mini eggs,  although I am a bit disappointed as my family wont be able to visit at Easter due to the Lockdown rules!

I found the pattern for the little box online and hand cut four in bright spring coloured card.

Next I embossed all the sides with an older embossing folder from Cuttlebug and highlighted the embossing with Distress Oxide inks.

I then made the labels by stamping this really old Rubber Stampede image in black and colouring with my Zig Markers. adding some glimmer paste to the seed head.

I found scraps of matching ribbon for the boxes and attached the label.

Really pleased with how they turned out and quite simple to make too.

Sorry for the photo heavy post!
I am adding these to the current challenge at the "Lets Squash it" blog "Boxing clever with floral embossing"

Happy Mothering Sunday to all the UK Mothers out there!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge

The Christmas Kickstart Challenge is use an Christmas embossing folder and stamps so here is my entry, this is an old embossing folder from Provo Craft, I have followed a technique I saw somewhere online, sorry I can't link as I am nor sure where I saw it. For this I inked up the embossing folder in green and then stamped onto the folder with some snowflake stamps from Hero Arts.

When you run this through your sizzix machine the ink and stamped snowflakes are transferred onto the card as you can see in this close up.  Its very subtle but looks effective.

Next I got a foam dabber and lightly brushed Cracked Pistachio and Scattered Straw ink over the embossed surface, finally I added some Nuvo drops to highlight the features on the tree. A fun technique that I will definitely try again.

I shall also add this card to the Lets Squash It challenge.

Have a great weekend

Kaleidoscope Flowers!!

Had fun with my Zig Brush markers again and made another emboss resist card.  Love the bright summery colours.  The background stamp is the "Kaleidoscope Background" from Simon Says Stamp.  I also cut our some extra shapes to make these flower like shapes for added texture.

Adding this card to both the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes" and also the Simon Says Flickr Group challenge "Favourite Technique" which is emboss resist!!

We have actually had some rain this weekend after 2 months of drought, my poor flowers really need this downpour!  Never thought I would be pleased to see rain!!
Have a great weekend.

Get Well Soon.

Another card for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge and the SSS Flickr Group Challenge "Stencil It"  This stencil is by Tim Holtz and I have used it with embossing ink and Gold embossing powder to create a really shimmery card.  The flowers are from the SSS "Spring Flowers" stamp set and I have coloured with Zig Brush Markers.   Added lots of pearls for more sparkle!!

It looks like we are going to have another sunny weekend here in Dorset so I am getting out in the garden, after having a really wet winter my garden now needs some rain!
Have a great weekend

More stretching my dies!

Had another play with embossing using the Simon Says "Card Wrap Die" die, this time I cut a circle of card then dry embossed the die twice  using a silicone mat. Next I blended over with Distress Oxide ink "Cracked Pistachio". Then I added my stamped fussy cut flowers across the middle of the circle to hide the seam created from the embossing.

I love this effect!

I am also adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Add some texture"

Have a great day.

Emboss Resist

I have just received this Simon Says Stamp "Star Flower Background" as a recent prize and I just had to ink it up straight away.  This is the perfect stamp for the emboss resist technique (one of my favourites)  For this first card I have used a piece of patterned paper and stamped in white before distressing with Tea Dye ink.  I then highlighted the hearts and dots with a gold pen.  The sentiment is Hero Arts which I have layered up and added some wire detail.

For this second card I have stamped and embossed in gold and the distressed with Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Ripe Persimmon inks.

I shall add these cards to the Simon Says Flickr Group challenge#71  which is "Favourite Technique".

Super Snowflakes.

One of my new purchases to make this years Christmas cards is this fabulous Snowflake Die Set from Hero Arts.  As soon as it arrived I couldn't wait to get started, I love the layering effect the dies create.

Here is a close up, and so pretty.    For my card base I layered up a die cut square that I had stamped and embossed with white, the stamp is a really old Hero Arts cling "Flourish Background"I then used Peacock Distress ink.  Layered onto Glitter card I then added my snowflakes and the sentiment is from the new "Holiday Messages and Frames" set from Hero Arts.
I am adding this card to two challenges Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Totally Resistable" and the Hero Arts "Holiday Cardmaking" challenge.
