Birthday and Christmas!!

I have had a very busy few weeks visiting my daughter and also I have been away on a photography/ birdwatching holiday to Yorkshire.  Its also my Granddaughter Evas 2nd birthday today so I popped back up to Surrey for her party at the weekend.

This is the card I made for her, I cut the large 2 shapes using my Silhouette machine and stuck them down the left edge to create a card shape.  I then distressed with Salty Ocean Oxide ink. Most of the animals are from Heffy Doodles which I have coloured with alcohol markers.  I then die cut her name using dies from Altenew.

I was really pleased with how this card turned out and Eva was thrilled with it as she loves animals.

I have also been busy making more Christmas cards, this one uses a selection of die cut leaves and berries from Simon Says.  Not sure of the make of the frame die as i found it in a charity shop, i looks great over the musical background paper.

Pleased with how this turned out but it was fiddly and too complicated for batch making.

I need to crack on with my Christmas card making as I am way behind this year.

Eva's Birthday!

It was my Granddaughters 1st Birthday last week and this is the card I made for her.  I cut the 1 shape with my silhouette machine in white card and then distressed with Oxide inks.

I die cut her name using glitter cardstock and Altenew alphabet dies, next I stamped the zoo animals from the Heffy Doodle set "Two by Two Safari Animals" the monkey is a Sugar Pea design stamp. I coloured with alcohol markers and die cut.  The balloons were also from a Heffy Doodle stamp set.

I was really pleased with the finished card and Eva loved it.

I also made this fabric Birthday crown but she wasn't so keen on that , she is not a lover of hats lol.

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American followers.

Christmas Box Card

after watching a video by Jennifer McGuire on how to make shadow box cards and thought it would be fun to make a little Christmas scene.  I have used various stamps and dies, the little penguins are by Heffy Doodle and the reindeer by Clearly Besotted.  I have stamped and water coloured with my Zig brush markers then die cut.  The background uses a really old house and tree die from Memory Box. the sky and clouds in the background use distress oxide inks and a stencil i made myself.

This card folds flat for putting in the envelope but pops up nicely when you stand it .  The video was so easy to follow and I am really pleased with the results, I am sure I will be making more like this.

I am adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes" and the Die Cut Divas Challenge "Watercolouring".

I am off to my daughters for a few days for a visit , I am really looking to playing with my little granddaughter Eva. Enjoy the rest of your week.

I love the platform pop up card die from Lawn Fawn, its perfect for children's cards and so easy to assemble.  For this card I used various animal stamps and dies from Heffy Doodle, stamped and coloured with alcohol markers.  I had fun with this one adding the balloons to signify a 5th Birthday.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend, it's been very wet and windy here so I am hoping to get more Christmas cards made.

Platform Pop Up Birthday!

I have just got the Lawn Fawn " Platform Pop Up" die and have had fun creating lots of cards with it. This first card is for a 1st birthday and I knew these cute animal stamps from Heffy Doodles would be perfect. They are from the "Two by Two Safari " set and the little monkey is from an older Sugar Peas design set.

I stampede and die cut all the animals and then coloured with alcohol markers.  The card itself was really easy to make with the dies provided, I just used some patterned card I had in my stash.

Such a fun card to make.
I shall add this card to the Die Cut Divas challenge, this month its "Anything Goes" and also the LOVE Flickr group challenge. also "Anything Goes".

Hope you enjoy your weekend

Good Luck

Definitely not my normal colour scheme but I am always up for a challenge!!  The Heffy Doodle facebook challenge is Green and Gold and maybe a shaker! I have had this little elephant from Heffy Doodles for a while now and often use it on baby cards, I just thought it would make a great Good Luck card too.

I found this one really hard to photograph with the acetate , the background paper is really a lightisg green but looks olive in the photos.

I always love making shakers , such a fun process!!

This card is also for the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Bit O' Green"

Do you wanna build a snowman!

I thought I would try another slimline card as it is really challenging my creativity,  I am so used to making smaller cards but am loving this longer shape. Even though I am finding them a lot harder to photograph.
For this card I cut a scalloped background in light green glitter card and then a white base card for the scene.  I have distressed the background with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks.  The Simon Says Snowflake border has been embossed with white glitter powder for lots of sparkle , I then added the snow embossed border.

The penguins are from the Heffy Doodle stamp set "I wanna build a snowman" which I have coloured with Zig markers and fussy cut .   The sentiment is computer generated.

We are still having computer issues and as we are in lockdown at the moment I am hoping its going to struggle on ! Its such a beautiful day here today bright but cold so we have just been on a six mile walk in the fields around Beaminster, I am lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world!

Christmas Penguins!!

Another Christmas card to my stash and another slimline design, I am enjoying making this shape for a change and it is challenging me to think of different ideas.

I am adding this to both the " Lets Squash it" challenge and the "Christmas Kickstart" challenge as they both have the same theme this time "Christmas embossing and stamps".

First I cut three squares using SSS dies and then embossed using the Snow Crafts Too folder. I then distressed with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks also adding some glitter glue to the snow for lots of shimmer. I then added a background scalloped square to the shapes.  The penguins are from Heffy Doodles and I have coloured with Zigs and fussy cut. For more sparle I added the glittery die cut snowflakes!

A fun card to make with lots of different elements.

Hope you are having a relaxing weekend

New Baby!

A new baby card for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Animal Fun" using Heffy Doodle "Elephant" stamps and Simon Says Square dies.  I stamped and cut the elephant on some patterned paper and coloured the balloons with Zig Markers.

I shall also add this card to the Simon Says Flickr Group challenge "Splatter it".

Its our Wedding Anniversary today 38 years and its certainly a strange Anniversary, we usually try and go out for the day and have a meal somewhere.  This year because of lockdown its very different, we have ordered a takeaway from a restaurant in Bridport and I am looking forward to that but I am missing normal life.  Hoping we can get back to some sort of normal soon.

Have a great day and stay safe

Christmas Kickstart Challenge

This months Christmas Kickstart Challenge is "Create a Scene"  so I dragged outs lots of different stamp sets to create this little winters scene.  The tree is from a very old Hero Arts set and the reindeer is part of the Clearly Besotted set "Lets Prance"  the snowman and penguin are Heffy Doodle.  Sometimes its good to mix your stamps up!!

They are all stamped and coloured with Zig Brush markers.

Had fun with this and its another Christmas card in my stash.

Hope you are all enjoying your Easter weekend even if you are in Lockdown.

More Christmas Cards!!

Happy New Year to all my visitors!!

Although Christmas is over for another year I am still keen to take part in the Christmas Kickstart Challenge.  Last year it really helped me with my cards as I was already ahead of the game when November arrived.  This fortnights theme is "Penguin Parade" and as  I have the gorgeous "Wanna Build a Snowman " set from Heffy Doodles I have no excuse.

I prepared the background by distressing with Salty Sea and Pistachio Distress Oxide then running white Gouache through the Falling Snow stencil by Simon Says.  After adding the die cut mountain scene I stamped and coloured my penguins and snowball with Zig Brush Pens. then fussy cut them.

Finally I glued it all in place and added the sentiment.  Well my first card is in the box for next year !!

Thought I would add this photo I took of the beautiful lights down at West Bay, they were really gorgeous this year and looked amazing reflected in the water!

Have a great week.

Last Minute Madness!!

Its the last Christmas Kickstart Challenge of 2019 and I knew I had to play along.  I have really enjoyed taking part in this challenge this year, it also meant that I was ahead when it came to creating my cards for Christmas and it wasn't such a mad rush!

The last challenge of the year is "Anything Goes" or "Last Minute Madness".  I decided to ink up and colour these cute penguins again from "Heffy Doodles", love this set and its certainly been well used this year.  First I die cut four glittery snowflakes using Simon Says dies and stuck them to some white card, I then cut out the snow letters using alphabet dies from Altenew making sure the snowflakes were perfectly placed.  I layered them up to make the card thicker.

Next I stuck them to my embossed panel using foam taper to raise them up.  I then added the little penguin peeking through.

I will also add this to the Simon Says Flickr challenge "Die Cutting"

We are in for a few wet and windy days here  so I shall be up in my craft room making a few more cards!

Two More Christmas Designs!!

My neighbour was clearing out and gave me two rolls of wallpaper, a gorgeous shimmery gold and one in silver too.  Its perfect for using on my cards as it is a really good quality with a gorgeous elegant look.  I decided to have a go at embossing in gold on it and it worked beautifully with no buckling.   I embossed some extra leaves and cut them out also adding some vellum poinsettias. The stamp set is from Simon Says and the die is Heffy Doodles.  Lastly I added some gold Nuvo drops.

I am adding this card to the current Simon Says Flickr Group challenge "Merry Making".

My next card is a shaker made using Simon Says dies and Festive Tree stamp, the little penguin is from a set by Heffy Doodle called "Wanna Build a Snowman".  I have added lots of gold and silver stars in the shaker window.

I will also add this card to the Simon Says Flickr Group challenge and also the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Starry Starry Night".

The weather is still sop gloomy here so I am spending lots of time in my craft room getting more Christmas cards done.  I am seeing my daughter this week and she is bound to raid my stash lol!!

Starry Starry Night!!

A card for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Starry, Starry Night" using my favourite reindeer stamps from Clearly Besotted.  Cut the happy word using Altenew letter dies and added the Heffy Doodles Christmas Die, I also added some Nuvo Glimmer paste to the tops of the letters for a snowy effect.  The background is created with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks, and also using the "Falling Snow" stencil from Simon Says,

Have coloured my reindeer with Zig Brush markers and layered them up on the card, lastly adding my shiny stars.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
