Birthday and Christmas!!

I have had a very busy few weeks visiting my daughter and also I have been away on a photography/ birdwatching holiday to Yorkshire.  Its also my Granddaughter Evas 2nd birthday today so I popped back up to Surrey for her party at the weekend.

This is the card I made for her, I cut the large 2 shapes using my Silhouette machine and stuck them down the left edge to create a card shape.  I then distressed with Salty Ocean Oxide ink. Most of the animals are from Heffy Doodles which I have coloured with alcohol markers.  I then die cut her name using dies from Altenew.

I was really pleased with how this card turned out and Eva was thrilled with it as she loves animals.

I have also been busy making more Christmas cards, this one uses a selection of die cut leaves and berries from Simon Says.  Not sure of the make of the frame die as i found it in a charity shop, i looks great over the musical background paper.

Pleased with how this turned out but it was fiddly and too complicated for batch making.

I need to crack on with my Christmas card making as I am way behind this year.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge

Its getting on for a year since I lost my lovely hubby and I have been lacking in mojo for a few weeks now, but after a refreshing and restorative weekend away in Devon with old friends I felt like making some cards again.

This card is for the current challenge at the Christmas Kickstart blog "Gnome for Christmas" . I dug out this older Simon Says Li'l Gnome die and decided to go with silver and pink for a change, I also wanted to make a shaped card.  The background is made using a Pink Fresh Studio hot foil plate and die. I then added my gnome , the sentiment is also hot foiled.

Another card to add to my Christmas stash and its also got me crafting again!

I was also asked by my daughter to make a first birthday card for her friends baby daughter , I have used this design before, it is based on a card I saw on Pinterest a while back.  All the stamps are from Heffy Doodle and I cut the 1 shape and the name using my Silhouette machine.

Its a bank holiday weekend in the Uk and I am hoping for some better weather.  Have a great week.

Platform Pop Up Birthday!

I have just got the Lawn Fawn " Platform Pop Up" die and have had fun creating lots of cards with it. This first card is for a 1st birthday and I knew these cute animal stamps from Heffy Doodles would be perfect. They are from the "Two by Two Safari " set and the little monkey is from an older Sugar Peas design set.

I stampede and die cut all the animals and then coloured with alcohol markers.  The card itself was really easy to make with the dies provided, I just used some patterned card I had in my stash.

Such a fun card to make.
I shall add this card to the Die Cut Divas challenge, this month its "Anything Goes" and also the LOVE Flickr group challenge. also "Anything Goes".

Hope you enjoy your weekend

Under the Sea!

This months challenge at the "Lets Squash It" challenge blog is Under the Sea I found the perfect embossing folder in my collection , the swirls look just like waves when you use the reverse image.  I first cut the circle and then embossed before distressing  with Salty Ocean Oxide ink.

I decided to make a shaker and found these really old stamps from Paper Smooches which I stamped coloured with Zig markers and then embossed with clear glitter powder. A perfect card for a summer birthday!

Have a great week

Teenager card and full front shaker!!

I needed to make some family birthday cards recently , this first one for a sweet 4 year old.  I really wanted to make a full front shaker and as this little boy loves monsters I went with this patterned paper I had in my stash. I die cut it to shape and used lots of sparkly sequins.

Such a fun easy card to make and Harrison loved it.  I am adding this card to the "Anything goes" challenge over at the Simon Says Wednesday challenge.

This second card is for a youngster just becoming a teenager, again this was simple to make, I found the image on the internet printed, coloured and fussy cut it.  I had the background paper in my stash, added the sparkly dots and layered the skater girl up on foam tape for some dimension.

I will also add this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.

Off to make some more Christmas cards now as I still need a few more.  Have a great weekend.

Happy Birthday!

The "Lets Squash it " challenge this month is to use an embossing folder with numbers or letters and sand it. I only have one large folder with letters and its this cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder. In my stash I found an old pack of Whitewash Colourcore cardstock and chose this gorgeous pool colour.

I embossed and sanded it down to reveal the core colour and adhered it to my pool coloured card base.

Next I stamped and coloured this cute elephant from the Heffy Doodles "Elephant of Surprise" stamp set and stuck with the balloons to the card using foam tape to add more dimension.  Lastly I added the glittery stars.  Quite a simple card but fun to make!
I shall also add this card to the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Lots of Layers"

I am gradually recovering from my operation and managed to walk to the end of the road and back today. Slowly does it but I am missing my long walks in the countryside, hopefully soon!!

Birthday Girl!

Its the school holidays and we have our daughter staying with us for a couple of weeks so I haven't had much time for crafting!  I did manage to make this card for a sweet little girl who had her first Birthday at the end of July.

I used the Poppy Stamps Happy Birthday Background die and used it with my rubber mat to emboss the base of this card. I then distressed with Oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade ,Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry.

I then stamped the Critter Crowd image from Simon Says , coloured with Zig markers and fussy cut, layering up on the card with foam tape.  The glittery name is cut on my Silhouette machine.

Summer Fun!!

Our summer seems to have disappeared, its cold and raining and I am missing the sun.  Decided to play along at the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Summer Sun" to cheer me up a bit  !!

I had these older Paper Smooches "Surf and Turf" stamps so decided to ink them up again and colour with Zigs , I then fussy cut.   I smooshed some blue and green ink onto the card base and then layered up the pelican and balloons.   The Birthday die is from Simon Says, it is a portion cut from the Birthday circle die.  I have layered onto a blue card base.

We are expecting thunder storms today so I shall be in my craft room creating,  hope the weather is better where you are.

Childs Shaker Birthday

Love making Shaker cards, and I knew this " Critter Crowd" stamp from Simon Says would be perfect for one.   I stamped and coloured the image with Zig markers and then fussy cut.  The sentiment is also from Simon Says, I added these to my frame die cut and added lots of sparkly sequins for the shaker element.

I shall add this card to both the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Something Metallic" as my sequins are metallic.  Also the Simon Says Flickr Challenge "Anything Goes".

Hope you are having a good week, our lockdown is starting to ease off a bit and we have been able to get out a bit more.  Looking forward to some shops opening next week and our little town can get back to some sort of normality!

Happy Birthday!!

The May flowers are in full bloom down here in Dorset and I was inspired to colour up the SSS "Even More Spring Flowers" set again.  This time I embossed in gold and coloured with Zigs to create a colourful bouquet.

I also embossed in gold some of the leaves from the same set onto a die cut card, then layered up the flowers to create the bouquet.  I then layered the card onto pink card and adhered to the card base.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Love the bright colours you can achieve with Zig Brush Markers.

Next is a shaker card I made for my cousins Grand Daughter using the cute elephant set from Heffy Doodles.  Used some patterned paper on this card (I have loads in my stash and it felt so good to actually used some).  Love making shakers and they are always a hit with little ones!

I shall also add this to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.

Looking forward to the weekend as we are travelling back to Surrey for some wedding celebrations,  Hope you have a fun weekend.
