Flower Vase Pop up Card!

After watching this video by Jennifer McGuire I decided to try and make a similar pop up card using only the dies I had to hand.  First I created the vase using a Score Pal and measuring 1 inch intervals then gluing to make the box shape.  I then added a small piece of card across the middle as Jennifer did to make extra places to adhere the flowers.

I then cut lots of flowers, in various colours and leaves using really old Sizzix dies that I have and also the butterfly from Simon Says.

I cut the stems freehand and added to the flowers with pearls for added sparkle, next I started to arrange the flowers in the vase to create the bouquet effect, adding the butterfly at the back.. The die cut sentiment is by Hero Arts!  This pop up is small enough to fit into a 5 3/4 by 4 1/4   A2 envelope

Love how this has turned out and I will definitely be making another. I will add this to both the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Anything Goes" and the SSS Flickr Group Challenge.

Have a fun weekend.

Fun Birthdays!

Made these two cards a while back and forgot to post them, I needed a little boy and girl Birthday card and decided to use the same design for both.  I love making shakers and these really were fun to make using lots of die cuts and the cute older monkey stamp from Sugar Peas design and some balloons from a Heffy Doodles set.  The letters for the names are cut using the Altenew bold letters dies.

These were quick and simple to make and the recipients loved them. I will add these to the challenge at Watercooler Wednesday. Which is All  About Occasions hosted by my blogging friend Dawn.

Have a great week

Sending Hugs!

The Wednesday challenge over at the Simon Says Blog this week is "Sending Hugs",  I have just got this new Simon Says Adeline  butterfly die and was keen to try it out so I die cut lots from watercolour paper and coloured up with zig brush markers.  Adding a splash of white gouache to finish off.

I die cut this vintage Bo Bunny spotty paper and added the shaped striped edge before adhering the butterflies. Lastly I added some Bubble Gems from Lucy's Little Things.

I will also add this card to the current "Anything Goes" challenge at the Simon Says Flickr Group.

Its a lovely sunny day here in Dorset although a little windy so I plan to get out in the garden this afternoon.  Hope you enjoy your Sunday.

Lets Squash It!!

This month I am the guest designer at the "Lets Squash It" challenge blog and the challenge is "Use at least three folders and include a person." This is another inspiration card for the challenge using this sweet older stamp from Stampendous that I have had in my collection for ages. I love this cute baby image and decided to go for a pink theme although it would look just as good in blue!

I have used three different cuttlebug strip folders , two for the side banners and one across the circle, adding pearls to the scallops.

Gail has said that I should link this up to the challenge so I will !

Hope you find time to take part in the challenge

Another Christmas Card!!

While I was in the Christmas card mood I decided to make another card for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge "You Sleigh Me"

As I don't have any stamps with a sledge on I found this colouring page online and printed it out at the right size.  I then coloured with Zig markers and fussy cut!

Next I created the sky with a handmade cloud stencil and some Distress Oxide ink adding the embossed snowy border. I also added some glimmer paste to the sledge edge and the snowy hill.  I glued the sledge to the card base using foam tape to give more dimension and also added the computer generated sentiment.

A fun card to colour and another added to my Christmas stash!

We had a fabulous day yesterday as I at last got to meet up with my family in the New Forest, picnics in the outdoors are allowed and we were lucky enough to have a bright sunny day for it.  I have missed them all so much these last 6 months and I am now looking forward to half term when they will be allowed to stay over and we can at last celebrate our missed Christmas!!

Have a great week

Rainbow Christmas!

As you know if you follow my blog I love to make Christmas cards and I have found a new Challenge Blog "CAS Christmas"   This months theme is "Rainbow" which was a real challenge as they are not my usual go to colours for Christmas.  Once I had thought of a theme this card was fun to make, I always love a shaker card!!

I used the Simon Says "Pile of Gifts" die to make a shaker card with a rainbow background made by painting with Distress Oxides. I added some Iced Sherbet sequins from Lucy's Little Things. I then glues it to a pure white card blank.  I decided it looked a bit plain and not really Christmassy enough to then added the die cut "Chunky Tree " also from Simon Says infilled with gold glitter card for even more sparkle.

The sentiment is an older Hero Arts one which I have embossed in gold.

I will also add this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Clean and Simple" and also the SSS Flickr Challenge "Anything Goes"

Lockdown is at last easing off here in the UK and I am looking forward to seeing my kids for the first time in 6 months this weekend.  We are meeting in the New Forest for a picnic and to celebrate my sons and Husbands birthdays , both on Monday "A very expensive time for me LOL ).  Still have to celebrate a late Christmas but we are going to do that at the end of May when they are all allowed to stay over at our house, I can't wait for that!!

Have a great weekend

Birthdays!!

For my "Lets Squash" it post please go here

I have just received an order from Lucy's Little Things and couldn't wait to make a shaker card using some of the beautiful sequins. I had this panel already stamped and coloured and thought it would make a great background for my shaker.  The stamp is "Flora Background" from Simon Says and I have stamped in Spiced Marmalade Oxide ink and embossed clear.  I then coloured with Zig markers.

I used the Simon Says Stitched Squares dies to create the shaker front and added the Birthday Circle sentiment. Love how sparkly this turned out!  I am adding this card to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Happy Birthday" and the Die Cut Divas "Window card" challenge.

I needed a Birthday card for the   granddaughter of  my cousin , she is a sweet little 5 year old who loves to bake with her mum, she also loves dressing up so I knew this digital image would suit her perfectly. I also wanted to add a small shaker element as she also loves lots of sparkles ! I cut her name using my Silhouette and coloured the image with Zigs. I can post it now as her birthday was yesterday and she has received it and loved it! I will also add this to the Simon Says Wednesday Birthday challenge

Have a fun Sunday

Guest Designer

I am thrilled to be the Guest Designer over at the "Lets Squash It " Challenge#7 for the month of April.  Gail and Jo have set the challenge and  would like to see you:-

"Use at least three different embossing folders and include a person"

I had this cute free wedding digital image in my stash and was keen to use it, so I printed it out and coloured with Zig Brush Markers, I the cut with a rectangle die and embossed the corner with a small Cuttlebug corner embossing folder.  I am not sure of the name but it came in a set of four , possibly wedding ones!  I also added some small pearls for a little sparkle.

Next I die cut three strips of white card using a banner die that I have had for years and proceeded to emboss them with some strip dies , also from Cuttlebug.  These came in a set of five originally and I think they were called "With Love"

I used a square card blank and added my strips at varying heights on the base and then added the main panel raised on foam tape for dimension.

I had fun making this card and I hope it has inspired you to play along this month, I look forward to seeing all your cards!!

Birthday Shadow Box Card!

I had so much fun making the Shadow Box Card here that I decided to have another go and make a child's Birthday card with the Heffy Doodle " Elephant of Surprise" stamp set.  I wanted to make it look like the elephant was floating away with the bunch of balloons.

I created the background using a handmade cloud stencil and the Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink I then added the die cut village scene.  I stamped and die cut the elephant and balloons and coloured with zig markers.

I also decided to add the dry embossed panel to the front as the circles made me think of more balloons.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Simon Says and I have cut this in glittery orange card for added sparkle.

I am thrilled with the end result, such a fun card and perfect for a child!  I am adding this card to the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says which is Happy Birthday. and the Die Cut Diva's challenge "Window or Aperture card"

Have a great weekend

Shadow Box Card !

After watching Jennifer McGuire's video on making shadow box cards, I was desperate to have a go and after seeing the new "You Sleigh Me" challenge over at "The Christmas Kickstart Challenge Blog " I knew it would be a perfect subject for my card.

I haven't got any Christmas sleigh stamps so I found a free digital one online and printed and coloured it with Zig markers, adding some Nuvo glimmer paste for extra sparkle..  I then created my card front and back as in the video and decided to stick my extra card panel to the front, that way I could emboss it with the Tim Holtz Icy Frame folder.

Next I created the backdrop using a handmade cloud stencil and some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink,  The snowy scene is all die cuts.

I then added the gems and , glued the back to the front, the sleigh on the acetate moves really well when you shake the card.

I had a lot of fun making this and will definitely be making more!

Sorry about the long post.

Stencil Fun!

The current challenge at the Simon says Flickr group is " use a stencil" and as I don't have many stencils I decided to make one with the Simon Says " Modern Flowers Wrap die" I cut the stencil and used it twice to create the circle , inking with Cracked Pistachio Oxide .

I then stamped and embossed in white the flowers from the SSS "Spring Flowers" set colouring with Zig markers and then fussy cutting. I layered these up the centre of the circle to hide the join. The sentiment is cut in gold mirror card and the gems are from Lucy's Little Things.

I have lots of Birthdays in April so its a busy card making month , I really need to make some masculine cards but I really doo find them a challenge LOL, I am a flower girl at heart!!

Have a great week

Thanks!!

The current challenge at the SSS Flickr group is "Use a Stencil" , I only have a couple of stencils but this one called "Tap Dance" from Simon Says is a great one for all types of cards.

I used an old  spellbinders die to cut the shaped card out of some Antique linen cardstock and then stencilled in various Oxide colours.  The flowers are from Altenew and Simon Says and I have embossed in gold and coloured with Zig markers before fussy cutting and arranging on the card.  The thanks sentiment is also Simon Says and the pearls are from Lucy's "Little Things"

I shall also add this card to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Anything Goes"

We are having a really quiet Easter weekend as the family are still not allowed to visit, that's the second Easter we have missed out on , fingers crossed that we will be able to see them soon.

Hope you are enjoying your Easter break.
