"Jars of Joy"

Unfortunately my FIL passed away last week, he was 91 and had been ill for quite a while, he had been diabetic for 40 years and it took its toll on his health, he was almost blind and found it hard to get around. He is now at peace, we will all miss him.    We have lots to sort now so my crafting may have to take a back seat for a while.

I did have  chance to make one more card for the Moxie Fab Challenge "Jars of Joy" Just a simple card using the jar as a vase and adding sunflowers coloured with distress markers.

"Envy becomes you"

I have found time to play with this weeks Tuesday Trigger challenge cat Moxie Fab World,  aren't those shoes gorgeous, I love the beautiful green colour.

I have used an old Hero Arts stamp "Antique Brocade" for the background stamping in Lime green and then clear embossing.  The flowers are hand rolled using some Cosmo Cricket polka dot paper.

The weather here has turned decidedly autumnal its wet cold and miserable, hope its better where you are and you are having a fabulous weekend.

"Tag it"

Just a quick post tonight as  I am getting ready to watch one of my favourite programmes, "The Great British Bake-Off".  I always love cooking programmes but this one is a competition featuring amateur home cooks .

I had time yesterday to make this card for the current challenge at A blog named hero which is to make a tag or feature a tag on a card.  This card has an autumnal feel with the gingham and bottling jar full of cherries.

Thanks to Donna giving me the heads up I am also entering this in the "jars" Challenge at Moxie Fab World.

Hope you are having a great week.

At last another card!!!

Oh my goodness I don't like the start of a new school year, we have all been so busy at work, the list of jobs seems endless.  The school has had 95 new starters this week and it takes a long time to settle them all in when they are so young.  Needless to say I have been so tired the crafting has taken a back seat again.  I did manage to make this card though.  I felt like playing with my Distress inks and some resist emboss.

I have stamped the "Happy definition" stamp and embossed followed by the "leaf and flower background" next I distressed with various green and blue distress inks. I am really pleased with the end result perfect for an Anniversary card for my friend.

I am looking forward to the weekend now so I can relax a bit...

Have a great weekend too.

A Pin Therein!!

Its been quite a while since I had time to play over at the Moxie Fab Blogs "Tuesday Trigger"  but once I saw this cute pincushion with the sweet hexagons I had to have a go.  I love the chintzy material and that inspired me to use some scraps of chintzy paper ( a great way to use scraps!!)  Unfortunately I don't have a hexagon die so I just used a computer art program  to print off a shape and then I used it a blank!

I have used a piece of felt for the middle so I could stick the pins through.

This is the last weekend of my summer holiday and I am back to work on Tuesday, the six weeks have flown by and I am really not looking forward to going back to school!!

CAS

I had a few spare moments today so thought I would make a couple of CAS cards for the current challenge over at the Hero Arts blog before the deadline on Thursday.  This first one is using some cute little bee stamps from the Picnic set which I was lucky enough to win from Heather.  Thanks again Heather!!  As you can see this really is CAS the flowers are coloured and stamped using my Distress Markers and I have just added some glitter to the bee's wings.

Here are two cards with different sentiments, I am going to make a set for a gift.  Such a simple design using Distress Stains on my stamps.

This is the last week of my holiday, six weeks has flown by  and I am really not looking forward to going back to work!!

A card at last.

After spending time visiting some of my favorite blogs I think my mojo is on its way back, I have made a card for this months Hero Arts challenge using one of the sketches supplied.  Its taken me all afternoon but at last I am feeling a bit more creative.   The background is made by " kissing" the leaf and floral background and the friends definition stamp, then just added the memory box doily and HA butterfly plus the sentiment.  Quite a simple card but hopefully I am now inspired!

Still no cards!!

I am still hunting for my mojo after my summer holiday in France.  Instead I have been inspired to do some cooking, the French are the masters at making fabulous cakes and pastries, and every time I visited the Boulangerie for our morning croissants I was greeted with a mouthwatering display. Unfortunately I indulged far too much on holiday and now desperately need to diet!!!  But before I do I wanted to have a go at making some fruit tarts myself, here they are not quite as good as the French ones but still very yummy.

I hope to make some cards over the weekend as I have a few birthdays coming up,  its a long holiday weekend in the UK and as usual its going to rain so lets hope I can get inspired.

I am back from my holiday!

I have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Nice, France.  What a stunning place I loved everything about it, the beautiful weather, the fabulous food and the scenery.  Here are a few of my photos.

Its back to reality now, still washing and ironing to do but I will hopefully have time to visit a few blogs and catch up on flickr soon.  I also need to find my mojo I think I left it in the South of France.

I'm off on Holiday!!!

I was asked by a friend to make a card for his wife's 50th Birthday, I had a free hand in the design the only stipulation was that I used green.  I wanted to make something soft and romantic so the Italian Poetry background seemed perfect with the Heart Flourish.  Its based on this card that I made a while back and was really pleased with.  The butterflies have been lightly water coloured with distress inks and then covered with glossy accents.  I then added lots of pearls and then layered it up on a background made with the Leaf and Floral Background stamp.  The sentiment has been computer generated.

I am going to add this card to the challenge at A Blog Named Hero, the theme is freestyle.

This will be my last post for a couple of week as we are off on our holidays, we are going back to Nice in the South of France again this year, we all had such a great time last year and there are still places that we need to visit there.  Before I go I must thank all my visitors again for leaving such lovely comments, I really appreciate you finding time to stop by my blog.
