Struggling with Photography!!!

This is the colour swatch for this weeks challenge at The PlayDate Cafe and I was really pleased with the card I made till it came to taking a photograph of it.  My card is a pastel green with some white embossing on it which in real life looks really soft and delicate but try as I might I can't get a realistic photo of it.

Here are a couple of close ups so you can see the Hero Arts Wheat Grass stamp embosssed in white.  I have also made some paper roses after seeing the lovely ones Lin has been making.  I love making my own flowers and after making lots of the Dawn McVey "poofy flowers" these are my new favourites.

Another couple of photos of the whole card.

The background card has been distressed with Peeled Paint, Warm Green chalk ink and some Hero Arts green Shadow Ink. I also lightly stamped with  Rubber Stampede "Cosmos Flower".  The blue ribbon was a gift from the lovely Pia in Denmark.  I was the lucky recipient of a card from her for the May CCC.  I will post it later in the month.
Sorry for the long post but I have been frustrated with my lack of photographic knowledge. I think I am going to go into the garden now to take out my stress on the lawn lol.

Sally, these pictures really do show off your card beautifully! I can just imagine how gorgeous it is in real life! I love the softness of the background flowers! The grass stamp looks so lovely embossed in white, over them! I adore your flowers and am also inspired by Lin's. I need to try making some too! :)

BEAUTIFUL! Stunning and elegant! Love what you did and I think it photographed beautifully. (Although I agree the softest cards can never be captured as they are in person as with a photo)So happy you played again with the PDCC!

Hi Sally

Thanks for your comment on my blog today - I only found out about that challenge from your blog.....

Now your card above - the bottom two photos do show up the colours better than the first two and its a lovely card BTW! I know your frustrations with photography as I get that sometimes too - I know its all to do with lighting, and also in my case, I don't yet fully understand all the settings and F. stops!!!! with the aperture and focal length.... so no hope for me. I must admit though that I think all of your photography is really good - probably because you take the time to put a nice background behind your cards too!

Anyway hope the lawn has survived and that you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Take care

Tina
