February CCC

I took part in Deborah's fun Card Chain Challenge again this month, this was the card I sent Jacqueline in France.  I know she has received it so its safe to reveal.  I loosely followed the sketch Deborah provided and also tried to make a card in Jacqueline's style, (that's flowers and butterflies).

I was lucky enough to receive this lovely card from Lisa in the USA, I am afraid my photograph does not do it justice as the flowers have lots of sparkle on them, they really glisten in the light.  She also sent me lots of die cuts that I know are going to be very useful!!

I am going to take a little blogging holiday now, we have been asked to house sit for my cousin who has a beautiful house in the country.  He has lots of wildlife visit his garden and its our job to feed them!!

Have a great week.

Rainbows!!

The current challenge at A Blog named Hero Is "Roy G. Bio" which translated is Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet, the colours of the rainbow.  I had been struggling to think of an idea when I spotted this free paper from Mel over on Pinterest.  I love the design and knew I could use it in my card.  I coloured up the little owls image with Copics (A gift from  my blogging friend Heather) and added glossy accents to the eyes.  The sentiment is cut using my Silhouette machine.

I am back to work now, so not as much time to craft  Maybe I will get some time at the weekend!

More Spring Flowers!!

Here is another Flower Birthday themed card for the Hero Arts challenge, I decided to dust off an old stamp from the Sweet Threads set.  I have stamped with distressed markers and then water coloured.  I have noticed lots of cards lately made using a Wink of Stella pen to add some sparkle.  I haven't yet got one (although its on my wishlist) but I do have a Sakura glitter gel pen so I have added some sparkle to the pink flower.

Have a great Sunday.

Another CAS card.

I seem to be going through a CAS card phase at the moment, I really love the effect with all the white space on a card, it gives a really clean and bright look.  I remember Jennifer Mcguire using her dies in different ways in the Holiday Card Workshop that I took part in and tried to use the same technique with my lattice die.  I am really please with this effect.  This is another card for the HA Birthdays challenge in the "Anything Goes" category.

Have a great weekend.

Thinking of Spring

I am enjoying a week of work and have found time to make this CAS card for the Hero Arts Challenge, Floral Birthdays.  A very simple card using the new clear set Butterfly and Flower and HA inks Pale Tomato, Orange Soda and Pool.  Finished off with a few pearls and a sentiment.

Have a great weekend.

Stencils and Modelling Paste..

A little while ago I won this stencil from the Hero Arts Blog I have used it once on this card but wanted to try something different.  It took a while as I had to colour the modelling paste stencil the line of dots and wait for them to dry before doing the next colour.  I found it quite hard as the ink waters down the paste and makes it harder to used.  This is the result, a little more practice needed I think!!
I am adding this card to the current Hero Arts Birthday theme challenge, "Rainbow of color birthday cards".

I am enjoying half term at the moment and the weather here has slightly improved so we have been able to get out and about.  We went up to London for the day yesterday and after going to the Saatchi Gallery in the morning we went to the theatre see "Billy Elliot".  What a fabulous show and the actor playing Billy was amazing!!

Pastel Flower!

We had a huge storm hit Surrey last night and we lost power for 8 hours, the wind was so strong we lost some fence panels and the garden is like a swamp, really looking forward to Spring this year.

Here is a card I made yesterday for the Simon Says Challenge "Get Krafty" and the Hero Arts Flower Birthday card Challenge, not my best photo as we are building for more rain and its quite dark!!  I dusted off my Hero Arts Ruffled Flower stamp and stamped and embossed in white,  I have added some shading with distress ink.
Hope you are having better weather where you are.

CAS Valentine!!

Just a quick post today with another card for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Have a Heart".  This is a really simple CAS card, first I masked off the square in the middle of the card and stamped the HA Leaf and Floral background and distressed a little.    Added a die cut heart and pearls and there we are.

Have a great day

CAS Birthday

I made this CAS birthday card for the Hero Arts Blog Birthday Challenge, This is for the Floral Birthday Challenge!!  I have been having trouble with my photographs lately as the weather in the UK has been horrible, loads of heavy rain and dull cold days, I am looking forward to Spring!!

For this card I stamped my flower from the Cherish Yesterday set onto a tag that was attached to a new top I got last week.  The card was very absorbent and also had a slight embossed effect.  I will be saving my clothes tags from now on!!  The stripes are washi tape a present from a friend, just love the gingham one!!

Have a Heart!

I had time to make this quick CAS valentines card for the Wednesday challenge over at Simon Says, "Have a Heart".  I made a heart stencil out of light card and stamped my Newspaper background stamp in the shape, I also distressed a little to make it stand out.  I then added a die cut heart and the sentiment.  Very simple but I like the effect!
I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend after a busy week at work.  Hopefully I will get some crafting in too.

Happy Birthday !

My blogging friend Heather sent me a lovely package for my birthday that included some Hero Arts images ready to colour and use.  These sweet bears are perfect for a child's Birthday card so I got colouring with my Copics and made this for the current Hero Arts challenge " Kids Birthday" .

Have a great day!!

LOVE!!!

I had some time to play this morning and decided to get out some old brass stencils to play with.  I was lucky enough to win a place on the Online Stencil class but have yet to read the notes and follow the class!!  This is a start I suppose,  I used my modelling paste to make the heart and then sprinkled with red glitter while it was wet to create a very sparkly heart! It took a few hours to dry but the result is really nice.

Here you can see how raised it is from the card.!  I am adding this to the Addicted to Cas challenge this week, the theme is Love!

January CCC

Th talented and very organised Deborah Nolan has started up the Card Chain Challenge again,  its such fun to send and receive a card every month, especially when you receive such beautiful cards!!  Look at this gorgeous design from Joy.   She also sent my a beautiful ATC and some little sticker hearts.

I sent my card to Lucille in Colorado,  I tried to follow Deborah s sketch as closely as I could.

I am not sure if Lucille has received it yet but Deborah has revealed all the cards now so I have added it here.  This month there were 29 participants from around the world, if you would like to join in and try and make next months figure even larger here is the link.  Hope you find time to join in!!

Have a great weekend.
