Stencils and Modelling Paste..

A little while ago I won this stencil from the Hero Arts Blog I have used it once on this card but wanted to try something different.  It took a while as I had to colour the modelling paste stencil the line of dots and wait for them to dry before doing the next colour.  I found it quite hard as the ink waters down the paste and makes it harder to used.  This is the result, a little more practice needed I think!!
I am adding this card to the current Hero Arts Birthday theme challenge, "Rainbow of color birthday cards".

I am enjoying half term at the moment and the weather here has slightly improved so we have been able to get out and about.  We went up to London for the day yesterday and after going to the Saatchi Gallery in the morning we went to the theatre see "Billy Elliot".  What a fabulous show and the actor playing Billy was amazing!!

Pretty card Sally, you obviously overcame all the problems of colouring the paste! Isn't it great to have a week off? We've just come back from a lovely walk over the local Clent Hills... so relaxing, Jo x

You did a great job with this card. Did you color the paste before you used it or did you color the dots after they were on the card? It's so colorful and pretty.

I have that stencil, too, Sally and I find it difficult to use, too, unless I just want a border. Your idea of doing one color at a time and letting it dry and then continuing the design is a very good one. I like the results you achieved with this pretty card!

beautifully done Sally. I find it frustrating on the waiting the paste to dry. I'm too impatient. Your card is just lovely

I love the different textures you ended up with - the waiting to dry would drive me batty, I think!

Despite your "technical" issues, the colours turned out great :)

Try using acrylic paint - it doesn't really affect the paste consistency.
