Star Birthdays!!

Just a quick post with my card for the last  Lily Pad Challenge, I am really sad to see this challenge site finishing as I love playing along with them..  Here's my "Star " card for the Simon Says challenge.  Not my usual type of card but I am trying to kick start my mojo.  I have struggled since my trip away and I am hoping its back for next week as its school half term holidays and I want to create some cards for a craft fair that I am doing.

I rainbow stamped some card stock with some distress inks and my HA leaf and floral background stamp before punching out the stars and cutting the strips of paper.

Hope you are having a fun week.

Sunflowers!!

Oh my goodness I can't believe its over a week since I posted here.  I had a fabulous weekend away for my Wedding Anniversary ( thanks for all the good wishes) and we were so lucky with the weather, it didn't rain once.  We well and truly spoilt ourselves with two delicious meals out and had fun on the beach and visiting various places.

Since I have been back I have been really busy and not had any time for crafting till today.  I wanted to have a go at Vera's challenge over at the Lily Pad, its quite a simple card but my mojo is playing up at the moment and its all I could think off.  Lets hope it returns soon!!!

Here care three quick photo's, we went to Hix's Oyster Restaurant in Lyme Regis and this was my starter.

Doesn't it look pretty on the plate, a real work of art and delicious too, this is pureed beetroot with goats cheese, toasted hazelnuts and wild garlic flowers!!

This is the main course and a view from our table out across the harbour and a view off the cobb at Lyme.  My meal was a crab curry, very messy as the crab was served in the shell but really delicious so worth the curry fingers!!

This is hubby on the beach at Charmouth fossil hunting, although its sunny we had to keep our jackets on as there was a cold wind,  it was well worth the hunt , he was lucky enough to find a really rare ammonite.

I promise I will catch up with some blogs this week as things have quietened down a bit now.

Splattered ink!!

I decided to get inky and  have a go at the Moxie Fab "Splatter Challenge".  I wanted my card to give the impression of a meadow of wild flowers, so I splattered my card quite a bit with various colours and then over stamped with The Hero Arts Blooming Meadow stamp.  I then just added my paper pieced and punched butterflies.

Such a pretty effect, I then just added a few pearls and distressed the bottom of the card with some Bundled Sage ink. I am also adding this to the current challenge at "A Blog Named Hero" called Dust off your old stamps.

This will be my last post for a few days, tomorrow is my 30th Wedding Anniversary and we are going away for the weekend, I am really looking forward to it although it looks like its going to rain a lot :0(  We had planned lots of walks in the countryside and along the coast,  looks like we will be getting wet!!

I though I would add a photograph of our wedding all those years ago, unfortunately both my parents had passed away so we opted for a Registry Office ceremony and then a Honey moon in Monaco to watch the Monaco Grand Prix (hubby is a huge Ferrari fan and has been since he was a little boy) those years have flown by.

Hope you all have a great weekend too.

CAS cards.

Very unusual for me but I have managed to make two CAS cards, both are for challenges over at Moxie Fab, this one is for the Postage Challenge, I thought this would make a great note card set and plan to make five more in various colours to put into a gift box.

This second card is for the Gingham challenge, a very simple new baby girl card, it was tempting to add more bits to this card, but I resisted.

At last we have some sunshine here although there is still a cold wind, never mind I have at last been able to do some gardening and plant some vegetables.  Hope you are enjoying your weekend, especially all my blogging friends who are celebrating Mothers Day.  In the UK Mothers Day is in March so I have already been spoilt this year!!

My Blog Candy Winner is....

I decided to draw my candy using the old fashioned method of paper in a basket as I can never get the Random Org box to show on my blog.  My son offered to draw the name and he allowed me to film his hands while doing it and then he offered to add some background  sound effects.  What do you think?

Congratulations Lisa, Please contact me.

Hope you are all having a great week.

Fluttering Butterfly number 2.

Its been raining most of the morning so I thought I would make another interactive card for the Hero Arts challenge.  This card is not my usual style but more of a fun card.  I wanted to use the die cuts to represent a flower head with the butterfly landing on the flower.  I have used the same wobbler device as on my last post, here is a photograph to show you the workings.

I have also added a short video to show you how the butterfly flutters, hope this works as I have never added a video before, in fact I don't think I have used the movie mode on my camera before!!

Its been great having an extra day off, just wish the sun would come out for a while.

Enjoy your day.

P.S. Still three more days to enter for my blog candy.  Please go to this post to see..

Fluttering Butterfly

The weather must be bad here I don't think I have ever posted twice in one day before. I wanted to try and make an interactive card for the current challenge over at Hero Arts, After seeing this discussion thread by Susan I had a go at making a DIY Wobbler and attached it to my butterfly. When you touch its wings or even the card they flutter. I am really pleased with this effect and shall definitely be having another go.

The flowers are coloured again with my distress markers and then touched up to highlight the flower centres. I then just added the pearls and sentiment.

This card is also for the CAS-ual Friday First Birthday Challenge.

P.S.Don't forget to go to this post for my 200 follower's giveaway.

Distress Markers.

If you are looking for my giveaway post please go here.

I have been experimenting with my Distress Markers again, they are perfect to create shabby chic cards as the colours are not to bright. This Hydrangea stamp is also the perfect stamp as it has a lot of definition to the petals and leaves. The background writing is an old Hero Arts stamp that I have been hunting for, for ages.  Its called Italian Poetry Background , the script is so beautiful and perfect for cards like this,  I was lucky enough to find it on ebay last week and couldn't wait to ink it up. After stamping the flower I have added some water for a smudged look.

This card is for the current Hero Arts Birthday challenge and the Simon Says 3rd Birthday challenge.

Its a long Bank Holiday weekend in the UK and I had been planning to get into the garden but the weather is so wet and cold I am going to craft instead!!!
Hope you have a great weekend.

Butterflies...

A Blog Named Hero has set a new challenge and this one I found difficult!!  The challenge is to "use a sentiment as something other than a sentiment".  Very tricky, this is what I came up with although I am not all together happy with it.   Never mind I will try to think of  something else.

Just a short post as I had some new stamps arrive in the post today and I can't wait to ink them up.

I now have 199 followers so one more and I will be having a giveaway, keep watching!!!!
