A Glittery Gnome

I decided to make another card for the Christmas Kickstart challenge "The Midas Touch"using my L'll Gnome die from Simon Says, I think he looks cute with his glittery gold hat. The Background embossing and Merry Christmas frame are also by Simon Says. I also added some shimmery stars for some extra sparkle.

Its been bitterly cold here in Dorset and I am staying inside in the warm , have a great weekend.

A touch of gold!

I am keen to play along with the Christmas Kickstart challenge again this year as I got really behind with my cards last year and it was a bit of a panic to get them all made.
This months theme is "A Midas Touch" and as I still had all my Christmas card bits on my desk before the big tidy up! I got to work and made this really simple card using dies and an embossing border folder.

I embossed the dots border folder along the side of the card base and then added some snowflakes using Simon Says dies, I added the gold glittery snowflake and some gems for a bit of sparkle. Another card that was really difficult to photograph, white on white is never easy.

I think I am going to be stuck in again today as there is more rain forecast , an ideal opportunity to finish my craft room tidy!

Have a great day

White on White

Happy New Year

to all my followers, thank you for all your comments over the last year, I really appreciate them.

Here is a card that I didn't get time to post before Christmas, its a white on white card using a border dots embossing folder and die cuts.

First I embossed the base card using a really old dots border folder, then I die cut lots of stars, some in card and some in some off white patterned paper. I then pop dotted and glued the stars to the base card adding some silver gems for a bit of sparkle.  The sentiment is hot foiled. It was difficult top get a good photo of this one as the light wasn't great and white on white is always hard to capture.

The weather here at the moment is really wet and windy so I have spent the morning giving my craft room a long overdue tidy up.  It looks so much better !

Have a great week

Shaped card!

I was lucky enough to find this sweet Hobby Arts stamp in a local Charity shop , perfect for cutsie Christmas cards.  Its quite a small image so I decided to make this small shaped card using some Spellbinder dies.

I stamped and coloured my images with some alcohol markers, I then die cut the present image with a circle die , the holly brach I fussy cut and added to the circle with foam dots.
The sentiment is computer generated and I added some red gems for a bit of sparkle.

Have a great week

Chrstmas whites!

I have had a really busy time lately and its been a while since I posted anything,  I am back now and here is a card for the current Christmas Kickstart Challenge "If its Christmassy Link it Up"

I wanted to make some cards using a mainly white palette and this is one of them.  I used a really old start embossing folder for the edge of the base card. I then just added die cuts and a pink bow. A very simple card to make but I like the simple design and I will be trying more like this.

The star die is by Memory Box and the branch is a Simon Says die. I have at last finished and written my cards for this year, It was a bit of a rush towards the end and I must be more organised next year!

Hope you are enjoying your week.

Christmas Cards!

I am still busy trying to catch up with my Christmas card making, I have got so behind this year.  Here is another card made just using dies and a border embossing folder.  All the flora dies are by Simon Says and I have cut some in patterned paper and some I have coloured with Zig markers.

The sentiment has been computer generated and I have also added some pearls for a bit of sparkle.

I shall add this card to the Christmas Kickstart challenge as I have used colours that are not really Christmassy.

I am off to my daughters again next week, she is moving house and Nana is needed for babysitting duties.

Have a great week

Non Traditional Christmas!

The Christmas Kickstart challenge this month is called " It's Christmas Jim but not as we know it! so for my card I decided to go for non traditional colours.

For my background I used a piece of patterned paper and ran it through the Simon Says "Spun Sugar" embossing folder.  I then die cut the SSS Merry word with a dusky pink background and glittery cream card.

Next I die cut lots of leaves and berries, also by SSS and coloured them with Zig markers.  I then adheared the word with foam tape so I could layer the leaves and berries under the word.  Lastly I added some clear gems.

Although these colours are non traditional I am really pleased with the look, delicate but still Christmassy.

We have another rainy day here in Dorset so I am busy trying to catch up with my crafting.

Have a great Day

CAS Christmas.

I am going away for a couple of weeks tomorrow to my daughters, she is moving house and I am going to help her with the packing.  I wanted to make another Christmas card before I left so decided on this CAS card using a die I won called Holly Stripes by Poppy Stamps.

First I die cut my background blank and ran it through a dotty border embossing folder.  I then cut the holly and placed it over the dots.  Next I added the hot foiled sentiment.

This was a really easy card to make and perfect for batch making , which I may have to do if I don't get a move on with my cards!

Hope you all have a good weekend , I am off to finish packing now.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge!

I had another chance to play along with the Christmas Kickstart Challenge in memory of Janis Woolbright. I went hunting again on Pintrest for some free digital images and found this cute image of a fun loving cat and his mistletoe.

I printed the image and coloured with my Zig markers, then distressed the background with Oxide inks.  These cute little hearts are a die set from Simon Says, I have layered some on foam dots for added dimension and then added the pearl berries. Next I mounted it on some red glitter card and then a white background run through an old star embossing folder.

Its been fun making these cat themed cards and I have someone in mind to receive them at Christmas.

Hopefully the sun is coming out here today so I am off to Lyme Regis to sit on the beach and maybe have an ice cream. Have a great weekend.

Layered Dies.

I am back on my Christmas cards this weekend and made this with lots of layered die cuts so I am adding it to the Die Cut Diva challenge "Layer a Die Cut"

First I ran my card base through a really old dotty border embossing folder, then I cut the star dies using the Pink Fresh die, I also cut lots of berries and leaves from the Simon Says Fruitful Berries set and coloured with Zig brush markers.

I then layered it all up at the side of my card adding some sparkly gems and a computer generated sentiment. This one was difficult to photograph and the embossed dots are hard to see but it does have a lot of texture.

I will also add my card to the LOVE Flickr Group challenge this month.

I plan to have a busy card making weekend, hoping you all find time to do some creating.

Topsy Turvy Christmas Cat!

The Christmas Kickstart challenge this month is in honor of  Janis Woolbright   Janis ran the annual Cat Lovers blog hop but sadly passed away in January.  Although I never took part in the hops I love to take part in the Kickstart challenge so I have made a cat themed card.

My card is made using a digital image that I have printed and coloured with brush markers, I then die cut the image and distressed with Oxide inks. I added some sparkly gel pen to the tinsel and holly to give it a bit of glitz.

I then added the red snowflakes cut using a Simon Says die and layered everything on a piece of glittery patterned paper. The sentiment is computer generated.

I enjoyed making this card and hope to play along again later in the month.

More Christmas Snowmen!

I had time to make another card for the "Christmas Kickstart Challenge" today and decided to make another snowman scene using the Heffy Doodle stamp set "Wanna Build a Snowman". I found this border snowflake die in a charity shop last year and its so useful.  I cut two one in sparkly PP and another in card which i then layered together.

I then cut the snow background and embossed with a folder I also found in the shop.  The snowman are coloured with my copic markers.  The reindeer is from a really old set from Clearly Besotted.  I layered the frame on foam dots to give some dimension.

Thrilled to have another card in my box but there is a long way to go before I catch up.  I am going to add this card to the LOVE flickr group challenge as well.

Hope to do some more crafting tomorrow as the weather is not looking good!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge

Its getting on for a year since I lost my lovely hubby and I have been lacking in mojo for a few weeks now, but after a refreshing and restorative weekend away in Devon with old friends I felt like making some cards again.

This card is for the current challenge at the Christmas Kickstart blog "Gnome for Christmas" . I dug out this older Simon Says Li'l Gnome die and decided to go with silver and pink for a change, I also wanted to make a shaped card.  The background is made using a Pink Fresh Studio hot foil plate and die. I then added my gnome , the sentiment is also hot foiled.

Another card to add to my Christmas stash and its also got me crafting again!

I was also asked by my daughter to make a first birthday card for her friends baby daughter , I have used this design before, it is based on a card I saw on Pinterest a while back.  All the stamps are from Heffy Doodle and I cut the 1 shape and the name using my Silhouette machine.

Its a bank holiday weekend in the Uk and I am hoping for some better weather.  Have a great week.

Another Christmas Card!

While I had my Christmas stamps out I decided to make another card for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge using these cute reindeer wearing scarves, this is a really old set from Clearly Besotted.

I used a new stencil I have recently got from Simon Says which creates this squared background and some Distress Oxide inks.  I then die cute the Ho Ho Ho using a die also by Simon Says.  The reindeer have been stamped, die cut and coloured with my alcohol markers.

Another wet and windy weekend forecast here, I am in the process of making a quilt with some material scraps so this weekend seems the perfect opportunity to get some more done.
Hope you have a great weekend.
