Star Birthday!!

I have just got this new die from PinkFresh Studios called "Shaker Stars" so I had a play and came up with this birthday card in gold and white.

First I cut lots of stars in gold and white, then also made up the top shaker element in white with gold sequins. The base card I stamped with an old Hero Arts stamp called "Italian Poetry" background and then cut the large star to make a second shaker, which I filled with gold and silver sequins and stars..

I shall add this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge blog "Anything Goes".

We are off to Surrey for a week now to house sit for my cousin and look after all his animals again, really love going there , it will be a nice break and we will get to see our new Granddaughter Eva which is always a plus!!

Have a great week

Valentine!

I am still finding more ways to use the "Arched Leaf and flower Blooms" die set from Simon Says! This time creating a valentine card.

I found some pink gingham card in my stash from Papermill direct and knew it would make a great base for the red flowers,  Also added lots of pearls for more shine!

I am adding this card to the challenge at the Simon Says Flickr group "Love is in the Air"

Its another dull cold day here in Dorset so I shall be making some more cards!

Hexagon Birthday.

After making this card  I still had a few flowers and leaves on my desk so decided to make another card.  This time I went for a hexagon shaped one with some lovely lilac gingham card I had in my stash.

I added a circle of white card to the hexagon and layered up my leaves and flowers till I was happy with the effect.  I then added the pearls and a die cut gold Birthday which is a portion of the Birthday circle card from Simon Says.

I love the look and think I may make my Easter cards in a similar way.  I am adding this card to the current SSS Flickr Challenge "To Die For "

Spring Flowers!

Decided to play along again with the "Arched Leaf and Flower Blooms" die from Simon Says, the weather has been wet and cold and I needed some spring flowers!

I die cut the flowers and leaves and coloured with Zig markers before splashing with some white gouache.  I placed the pieces onto a white piece of card that I had embossed with the SSS "Crystal Distortion " embossing folder. Next I layered up onto some lilac gingham cardstock and added the pearls and gold embossed sentiment.

I am adding this to both the Die cut Divas challenge for January "Flowers" and the Simon Says Flickr challenge "To Die For"

Looking forward to a few days away next week visiting my new granddaughter.  Have a great week.

New Embossing Folder!

Just before Christmas I got this new Faceted Snowflake embossing folder from Simon Says and this is the first time I have had to play with it!

Its such a pretty design I wanted to make it shine on my card so I embossed and rubbed with various blue Distress inks . I then cut some snowflakes in different blue glitter card and layered up on the card with a gem centre. The sentiment is computer generated.

I shall add this card to the current challenge at the Simon Says Flickr Group "To Die For".

Hoping for a lazy crafty weekend as the weather is not good.

Under the Sea!

This months challenge at the "Lets Squash It" challenge blog is Under the Sea I found the perfect embossing folder in my collection , the swirls look just like waves when you use the reverse image.  I first cut the circle and then embossed before distressing  with Salty Ocean Oxide ink.

I decided to make a shaker and found these really old stamps from Paper Smooches which I stamped coloured with Zig markers and then embossed with clear glitter powder. A perfect card for a summer birthday!

Have a great week

A Rainbow of Snowflakes!

This months challenge over at the Christmas Kickstart blog is "Rainbow Christmas" and I was excited to play along, I wouldn't normally use this many colours for Christmas but am pleased with the bright sparkly card.

I first cut the Simon Says "Ring Wreath" and glued it to my card front, I then die cut my various glitter card snowflakes using the Rina snowflake die from Simon Says.  I realize that there should be 7 colours but these were the only glittery colours I had in the right shades, hope it still counts!  Last I added lots of sparkly gems for even more sparkle!

I am also adding this card to the challenge at the Simon Says Flickr group "To Die For"

Happy New Year to all my followers!

Hope you are all recovering from the Christmas break , I am looking forward to some warmer dryer weather, hopefully soon!!

Thinking of spring!

Made this quick birthday card with my new embossing folder "Garden Harmony" from Altenew and my new die set "Arched Leaf and Flower Blooms" from Simon Says. Really pleased with the result as the leaves from the die are very similar in shape to the embossing.

Just added the gold embossed sentiment and the pearls.

I am adding this card to the challenges at the SSS Flickr group and the LOVE Flickr group.

Have a great week

New Crafty Bits!

Before Christmas I was lucky enough to win a Simon Says Gift card and this new "Arched Leaf and Flower Bloom"  die flew into my basket!  I love how versatile it is.

For my first card with it I decided to cut in gold purple and lime. I also die cut a square background and embossed with Altenew's "Garden Harmony" folder.

Just added some pearls to the flowers and a stamped and embossed in gold "Happy Birthday".

I am adding this card to the current Flickr challenge at  Simon Says "Anything Goes" and the "Flowers" challenge at Die Cut Divas!

Wishing all my followers a Happy and Healthy New Year!!
