Birthday Cocktail!

My best friends daughter was 40 this week and I wanted to make her a special card. I used my Quadrant die cut and hot foil plate form Pink Fresh Studios to create the shimmery background which I layered up on a background I made with Distress Oxide inks smooshed to make an ombre effect.

The cocktail stamp is from a set by Tim Holtz and its one I have used a lot, I water coloured the image and fussy cut before layering on my card . I then added the sequins and the hot foiled Happy Birthday.

I am adding this card to the Die Cut Divas April challenge " Water Colouring"as the cocktail is water coloured.

Looking forward to a visit from my daughter and granddaughter this weekend and hoping that the weather improves a little bit!

Have a great weekend

Thinking of Spring!

The weather here has been awful, wet and windy and I am desperate for some bright sunny days!  So I got to work and made another spring inspired card.  I had this gel press back panel already made up so decided to run it through my new Simon says Spun Glass embossing folder.  I then added the off cut of  a panel made using my Hot Foil machine and the Pink Fresh Quadrant plate. The flowers and leaves are cut using the Arched Leaf and Flower Blooms also Simon Says dies which I have coloured with Brush markers. Lastly I added the hot foiled sentiment.

I shall add this card to the challenges on the Simon Says Flickr group and the Love Flickr Group.

I am hoping the weather is going to cheer up a little for the weekend as I have friends coming to visit.
Have a great weekend

Spring is in the Air

We had a lovely sunny day here in Dorset yesterday and I was able to get out into the garden and do some weeding and tidying up.  I was then inspired to make a spring themed birthday card . I already had the Pink Fresh  foiled and stencilled back panel made ready to use ( when I have my foiling machine out I tend to make a few panels to have in my stash for later use) and I decided to cut it into a square shape.

I mounted it onto my card base and added this die cut flower from Memory Box , then added the pearls and foiled sentiment.

I am going to add this card to the challenge over at Die Cut Divas "Anything Goes" and The Love Flickr Group Challenge.
Unfortunately its raining again today , one small taste of Spring and back to the rain!
Have a great week.

The sentiment is hot foiled and from Pink Fresh Studios, I also added the mini Die cut hearts.  It feels good to used these warm, bright pinks and reds. Hoping for some warmer weather here but we have more low temperatures predicted.

Two Birthday Cards !

This is a photo heavy post as I have been busy making Birthday cards, its a busy time of year for Birthdays in my family!

This first card is using the Pink Fresh Quadrant Background hot foil plate , foiled in gold and
cut to a slimline shape, I have added it to my card base layered up on another piece of white card. I have then added my die cuts using Simon Says Leafy Branch and Memory BoxVerona Bouquet. I then layered the flower tops on foam tape and added the pearls and gold hot foiled sentiment.

My next card is for a little boy who loves his Lego,  I looked on pinterest for ideas for this one.

I die cut all the shapes and so many dots lol to create the Lego bricks just adding highlights with a white pen.  The sentiment is silver and hot foiled, very difficult to photograph.

Pleased with the end result, time consuming but worth it!
Off now to make more cards, hope you have a great weekend.

Flowers

I couldn't believe my eyes when I found this gorgeous Memory Box flower die in a local charity shop, it came straight home with me and I had fun creating this card.

I used an old embossing folder from Craft Concepts for the background and used this lovely blue card.

I then die cut the white oval and added my flower die cuts and some gems plus this hot foiled sentiment.

I am adding this card to the Love Flickr group challenge "Anything Goes" and the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Fabulous Flowers".

I am off to my daughters next week for a short break, looking forward to seeing my Granddaughter Eva and having some fun trips out.

Cocktails!

I needed a birthday card for a friend who has a birthday in late December and a cocktail card fitted the bill perfectly.  My background is made with the Pink Fresh quadrant stencil and die using various Distress Oxides colours with the stencil.

I then cut a card base using the die as the front , then foam dots to layer up my coloured die cut.

The cocktail is a stamp by Tim Holtz that I stamped, fussy cut and coloured with my Zig brush markers. The sentiment is hot foiled and from Pink Fresh and lastly I added a few sequins for sparkle.

I am adding this card to the Wednesday challenge over at Simon Says as my Pink Fresh die and stencil are new.

Wishing all my followers a very Happy New Year .

Eva's Birthday!

It was my Granddaughters 1st Birthday last week and this is the card I made for her.  I cut the 1 shape with my silhouette machine in white card and then distressed with Oxide inks.

I die cut her name using glitter cardstock and Altenew alphabet dies, next I stamped the zoo animals from the Heffy Doodle set "Two by Two Safari Animals" the monkey is a Sugar Pea design stamp. I coloured with alcohol markers and die cut.  The balloons were also from a Heffy Doodle stamp set.

I was really pleased with the finished card and Eva loved it.

I also made this fabric Birthday crown but she wasn't so keen on that , she is not a lover of hats lol.

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American followers.

Another Platform Card!

I love the platform pop up card die from Lawn Fawn, its perfect for children's cards and so easy to assemble.  For this card I used various animal stamps and dies from Heffy Doodle, stamped and coloured with alcohol markers.  I had fun with this one adding the balloons to signify a 5th Birthday.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend, it's been very wet and windy here so I am hoping to get more Christmas cards made.

Cocktails!!

The challenge over at the "Lets Squash it " blog is "Without Geometry life is Pointless" well this Simon Says Cracked Distortion embossing folder is my absolute favourite, I have used it on so many cards and it is perfect for this challenge.
The background colour is also my favourite two oxide inks Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean I have put it through the folder using the reverse image so the lines are more defined.
I then stamped this Tim Holtz Margarita cocktail on the back ground and then a second image that I have coloured and fussy cut, layering onto the card with foam tape. I also added some Nuvo glimmer paste to the edge of the glass to look like the salt on the rim.  Added lots of sequins for even more sparkle and a computer generated sentiment.

I think this card could be perfect for a masculine or feminine birthday!

Cocktails!!

This is a card I made for my daughters Birthday back in February, she loves a cocktail so I knew this set from Tim Holtz would be perfect for her.

I was lucky enough to get a Spellbinders hot foil machine for my birthday and wanted to use one of  my trial pieces in the design.  This is the Elegant Oval plate and I have used silver foil, it was the perfect background for my cocktails.

I stamped and coloured with Zig markers my cocktails and then fussy cut , I added them to my card using foam tape for some dimension.  The sentiment is also hot foiled and lurking in the back of a drawer I found some really old foiled sentiment sheets that I used when I first started crafting, luckily I had a silver Daughter sticker which matched perfectly, ( so glad I held on to the sticker sheets, I knew they would come in useful again one day!!).

She was thrilled with her card and although not my usual style I had fun making it.

Have a great weekend

Slimline Flowers!!

After a few days away in sunny Devon I am back to my crafting and have found by mojo is still away lol!!

I found this panel in my scraps box that I  made using the Simon Says Gerbera Daisy background stamp a few months ago, I had used the other half of the panel on a thank you card and thought that this would help to kickstart my mojo.

I layered the card onto a slimline base and added the die cut "Happy" and computer generated "Birthday" also added lots of sparkly sequins.

Love the bright sunny colours, they match the sunny weather we are having at the moment, although I think its set to change next week.

Adding this card to the Simon Says Flickr Challenge "Slimline and Spring". and the Die Cut Divas challenge "Birthday".

Off to sit in the garden now and make the most of it.  Have a great weekend

Slimline card

Thinking of Spring and also new ways to use the "Arched leaf and flower " die from Simon Says. This time I have made a slimline card and  used the "Mini slimline windows" die for the frame which I have raised on sticky pads above tjhe gingham card.

cut and coloured all the flowers and leaves with zig marker, the butterfly is also a Simon Says die and I just found a scrap of patterned paper to match my colour scheme.

I was very lucky and hubby got me a Glimmer hot foil system for my birthday and I have made a batch of sentiments ready for my cards.  I love it and know hot foiling is going to be a fun addition to my cards.

I am adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Slimline cards" and also the Love Flickr group challenge "Anything Goes".

We have family visiting this weekend for my daughters birthday, so looking forward to lots of cuddles with baby Eva!!

Embossing!

The new challenge over at the "Lets Squash it" blog is "Grasshopper Green" You have to use an embossing folder, the colour green and include an insect.

For my card I have used my new Altenew embossing folder called Garden Harmony which I have embossed in white and carefully rubbed over various green and yellow ink pads. I also added two die cut branches from the SSS Arched Leaf set, the die cut butterfly is also a Simon Says die. I added the gold sentiment onto vellum and attached to the card .

I will also add this card to the Simon Says Flickr challenge "Anything Goes".

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
