Lots of Love

I have used this Simon Says sentiment die cut a lot but it also comes with a sweet cupcake die which I haven't used at all, so I decided to make a card with  this as the focal point.

I die cut the cupcake using some patterned paper from my scraps basket, its worth keeping scraps as this is a tiny die and only takes a little piece of paper. I then mounted it onto a white circle ans a square of gold paper. Adding the die cut sentiment in gold mirror card.

For the background I used this really old embossing folder from Provo Craft, I embossed the white card then distressed with Oxide inks. Love how the inks highlight the embossed hearts.

I shall add this to both the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes" and the SSS Flickr Challenge "Lots of Love".

Have a great weekend

Let It Snow!!

Another snow themed card for the Simon Says Flickr Challenge using lots of dies ! The snowflakes are mainly from Simon Says and the letters are Altenew.  I created the background with lots of distress inks and some splatters of white gouache and silver paint, I also added some glitter paste to the tops of the letters to look like snow.

I shall also add this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Create your own background.

The north of England has had lots of snow over the past couple of weeks and we have had none but fingers crossed we may get some flurries tomorrow.  I would love to get out there with my camera and get a few shots!!

Have a great weekend and stay safe!!

Winters Wonderland!

In the north of the UK we have had huge snowfalls over the last few days and although we have been lucky enough to avoid it here in Dorset I was inspired to create this sparkly Christmas card. I have used the new Simon Says "Forest Border" embossing folder and then gently inked the background with an embossing ink pad and embossed with clear glitter powder to create a lovely glittery shimmer, unfortunately I have been unable to get a great photo.  I then coloured in one of the trees with a gold pen and added gold embossing to the edge of the card.

I then stamped and coloured with Zig markers these two reindeer from the Clearly Besotted stamp set, raising them on pop dots for texture.  The sentiment is computer generated.

I will also add it to the Lets Squash It challenge as I have used an animal and an embossing folder!

We are set for some colder weather here over the next few days, but thankfully no snow!!

Take care and stay safe.

Winter Chill!

I don't have many winter Birthdays to make for so I found it fun to make this Snowflake Birthday card, I used my favourite Distress Oxide inks for the background.  That's Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean, IO think they blend really well together, I then stamped snowflakes from a really old Hero Arts set and embossed them in gold, silver and white.  I then flicked some white gouache all over the card and let it dry.

Next I cut the SSS Birthday circle die in white and added some die cit Simon Says snowflakes to the centre and then added to my card.

I am entering this card into two challenges, SSS Flickr group "Winter Chill " and the SSS Wednesday challenge "Layer it up".

Went for a lockdown walk yesterday and noticed the first signs of spring arriving, the snowdrops are looking beautiful. Definitely one of my favourite flowers.

Have a great week

Birthday Hearts!!

I needed a special birthday card and decided to make lots of hearts !  I stamped and embossed in white the Simon Says Kaleidoscope background onto some white card and then die cut my various hearts.  I then coloured in my bright Zig brush markers.

Next I layered up onto my card base rectangle to create lots of depth also adding some pearls for sparkle.  I then cut the Simon Says Birthday Circle die in gold mirror card and cut it in half, adding half to the hearts.

I love the finished result and may use this design again in different colours. I will add this card to the current Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Layer it up ".

Have a great weekend

Summer Flowers

I can't wait for the winter to be over, especially as we are in a lockdown again !! I am missing sitting in the garden and looking at all the flowers, with that in mind I inked up my Simon Says "So Beautiful" stamp set and made this slimline card.

I stamped and embossed in copper powder on a slimline piece of cardstock and set to work colouring with my Zig markers. I also added some Cracked Pistachio ink over a stencil at the ends, next I layered up on some yellow cardstock and adhered to my base card.  Lastly I added the gold die cut sentiment also by Simon Says.

As you can see its another dull dreary day and I was unable to get a better photo!

I shall add this card to the current SSS Wednesday Challenge "Layer it up " and also the Love Handmade cards Flickr Group "Anything Goes Challenge".

Have a great week

Something New

A few of the challenges at the moment are to use something new and the only new crafting items I have are Christmas related so I have made another Christmas card.  I got these new Chunky Tree dies from Simon Says.  I have created the background with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks.  I then cut a tree in green mirror card and two in some white card which I added lots of glitter to.

Lastly I added the gems and computer generated sentiment. Such a simple design and would be perfect for batch making.

I shall add this card to the challenges at the Simon Says Flickr Group and the SSS Wednesday Challenge

Have a great weekend.

Mini card or tag!!

Although Christmas seems like a distant dream and in the UK we are now in lockdown again I was keen to take part in the Christmas Kickstart Challenge which this month is "Such a Deer" .  I love this cute reindeer stamp and die from Clearly Besotted and use it a lot"

I decided to make this mini card / tag using a distressed background, I then added the glittery die cut snowflakes and the gold nuvo drops.

I then stamped and coloured the reindeer and die cut adding him to the card with foam tape for dimension.

I am struggling to get my mojo working after the Christmas break and now knowing that we are stuck at home till at least the middle of February its quite depressing.  I need to get card making again to lift the spirits!!
