Star Birthday!!

I have just got this new die from PinkFresh Studios called "Shaker Stars" so I had a play and came up with this birthday card in gold and white.

First I cut lots of stars in gold and white, then also made up the top shaker element in white with gold sequins. The base card I stamped with an old Hero Arts stamp called "Italian Poetry" background and then cut the large star to make a second shaker, which I filled with gold and silver sequins and stars..

I shall add this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge blog "Anything Goes".

We are off to Surrey for a week now to house sit for my cousin and look after all his animals again, really love going there , it will be a nice break and we will get to see our new Granddaughter Eva which is always a plus!!

Have a great week

Birthday Shaker!

I love making and giving shaker cards and after seeing an idea online I made this card with the circle shaker window.  The stamp is "Cosmos Background" from Simon Says and I have stamped and embossed in clear powder then coloured with Zig Brush markers and distress oxides..

Next I die cut five circles and layered them up adding some acetate between the top two layers.
I then added the sprinkles from "Lucy's Little Things" before adding the sentiment from Simon Says.

I am adding this card to both the Simon Says Flickr group challenge and also the Love handmade cards Flickr group.  I had fun with this card and have my mojo back after my weeks break.

Fun Birthdays!

Made these two cards a while back and forgot to post them, I needed a little boy and girl Birthday card and decided to use the same design for both.  I love making shakers and these really were fun to make using lots of die cuts and the cute older monkey stamp from Sugar Peas design and some balloons from a Heffy Doodles set.  The letters for the names are cut using the Altenew bold letters dies.

These were quick and simple to make and the recipients loved them. I will add these to the challenge at Watercooler Wednesday. Which is All  About Occasions hosted by my blogging friend Dawn.

Have a great week

Birthdays!!

For my "Lets Squash" it post please go here

I have just received an order from Lucy's Little Things and couldn't wait to make a shaker card using some of the beautiful sequins. I had this panel already stamped and coloured and thought it would make a great background for my shaker.  The stamp is "Flora Background" from Simon Says and I have stamped in Spiced Marmalade Oxide ink and embossed clear.  I then coloured with Zig markers.

I used the Simon Says Stitched Squares dies to create the shaker front and added the Birthday Circle sentiment. Love how sparkly this turned out!  I am adding this card to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Happy Birthday" and the Die Cut Divas "Window card" challenge.

I needed a Birthday card for the   granddaughter of  my cousin , she is a sweet little 5 year old who loves to bake with her mum, she also loves dressing up so I knew this digital image would suit her perfectly. I also wanted to add a small shaker element as she also loves lots of sparkles ! I cut her name using my Silhouette and coloured the image with Zigs. I can post it now as her birthday was yesterday and she has received it and loved it! I will also add this to the Simon Says Wednesday Birthday challenge

Have a fun Sunday

Birthday Hearts!!

I needed a special birthday card and decided to make lots of hearts !  I stamped and embossed in white the Simon Says Kaleidoscope background onto some white card and then die cut my various hearts.  I then coloured in my bright Zig brush markers.

Next I layered up onto my card base rectangle to create lots of depth also adding some pearls for sparkle.  I then cut the Simon Says Birthday Circle die in gold mirror card and cut it in half, adding half to the hearts.

I love the finished result and may use this design again in different colours. I will add this card to the current Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Layer it up ".

Have a great weekend

Shaker Fun!

I needed a boys Birthday card , so decided to make a shaker, (love making them).  I got out this older Paper Smooches set and coloured the images with Zig Markers.  The sea background is made by blending, Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks.  I also made a stencil with some card and blended round it to create the waves.  Such a fun card to make and not my usual flowery creations!

I am adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Create a Scene"

Hope you are having a great weekend, we are having very spring like weather of sunshine and showers today, hopefully its better tomorrow as we are off on a shopping trip to Salisbury.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge

Gosh another two weeks have flown by and its time again for the "Christmas Kickstart Challenge" This time the challenge is "Have a Bear-y Christmas" , if you follow my blog you will know that this is not my style at all, I usually stick to flowers so this one was a real challenge for me.  I didn't have a suitable image so found this freebie on Pinterest.

First I printed it onto some white card and then coloured with Zig Brush Markers, I also added some Glittery Nuvo paste for the snow , although this doesn't really show up in the photo.  Next I die cut into a circle and used an old Spellbinders die for the background shape.  The sentiment is computer generated. I had fun colouring this so perhaps I need to do more cutsie cards!!

This next card is for my God Daughters little boy, he loves dinosaurs so again found these images on the internet and made this shaker card.

Its been such a lovely week here, the weather has been beautiful, but its all set to change again so I am off to do a bit of gardening.

Have a great week.

Card for Joni !

My son asked me to make a Birthday card for his friends little girl who is 4 next week.  I made her big sister a shaker card back in September and it proved a huge success so I decided to make Joni one too.  I won this older set of stamps "Surf and Turf"from Paper Smooches a while back and thought it would fit the bill perfectly.  I cut the 4 using my Silhouette machine then coloured the card with Distress Oxide Salty Ocean splashing with water to create the sea effect.  Then I coloured and fussy cut the fish to add to the card, the sentiment is computer generated.

I am adding this card to this weeks challenge at the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Animal Antics"

I also found time to play with my new Winter Flowers stamp set from Simon Says, I stamped and embossed in white onto watercolour paper then randomly painted with my Zig Brush markers and lots of water. I then die cut the letters using Altenew's Bold Alphabet dies. Just added some sequins for sparkle! I shall add this card to the current Simon Says Flickr group challenge "Anything Goes"

Hope you have a great weekend.

My Guest Designer Slot!!!

I love to take part in challenges as it stretches my creativity, making me try new things!  One of my favourite challenges to take part in is the one at the Simon Says Stamp Flickr group  so I was thrilled when I was approached by Barb to be the Guest Designer for the #107 challenge "Do it with Dimension".

Well as you can imagine I set to work straight away and came up with these cards.

For my first card I decided to make a shaker (Love making these)  I used the SSS Stitched Square dies to create the frame.  The flowers are from the  SSS "Spring Flowers " which I stamped, embossed in silver, coloured with Zigs  and fussy cut, layering up to create lots of dimension. Always love a bit of bling lol!

My second card again used the "Stitched Square dies" and the " Cosmos Flower Background" , I stamped the flowers with Distress ink then cut the squares.  I then  coloured the central square with my Zigs and layered up on a white frame. Added the " Thanks" die cut and some sequins for sparkle.

For my last card I went with a Christmas theme as I have loads to make in the next few months.  For this card I used the "Kaleidoscope Background" stamping and embossing once in gold and again in white.  I fussy cut four of the flower shapes from the white image and coloured with a red Zig pen, then layering two together to form a flower.  After die cutting the gold image I then layered on the red flowers adding a pearl for shimmer.

I really enjoyed making these cards and hope that maybe you will find time to play along with this challenge.

Have a great week.

Flowery Shaker!!

I had fun making my "Monkey Shaker "card and decided to make another but more feminine, this is what I came up with!

Used the large bloom from the Simon Says Stamp "Spring Flowers" stamp set and stamped and embossed in silver three times fussy cutting and layering up to create this larger bloom as I did here.
The leaves and flowers were coloured with Zig Brush markers, I love these pens.

I am adding this card to a couple of challenges The Simon Says Flickr Group Challenge and the Die Cut Divas Challenge.

Loved making this Shaker I am sure you are going to see more!!

Two new cards.

After a busy week in the garden I have found time to make some more cards, this first one uses the "Country Blooms"  stamps from Honey Bee , I have stamped and coloured the image with Zig Markers and then fussy cut out.  The large scalloped die is from Spellbinders, I decided a shaped card suited this image, I then adhered with foam tape after adding some splatters with the markers.  The Thanks die is by Simon Says, finally I added a few pearls.
I am adding this to the current challenge #77 at the Simon Says Flickr Group.

This second card was a bit of a challenge foe me as I prefer to make cards with flowers on, but I wanted to take part in the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says.  I dont have may child related stamps so I found this free Heather Ellis digital image online.  I have again coloured with Zig markers and die cut the balloon to make a shaker with glitter paper and sparkles.  The sentiment is Simon Says.

Now I am off to the garden again as its a lovely sunny day here.
Have a great Sunday,

Shaker Birthday.

Its been a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK so our daughter and son cam,e to visit and we have been out and about.  My daughter wanted a Birthday card for a friend so I quickly put this Shaker card together for her.  The stamps are the "Simple Flowers" from Altenew  and the square frames have been cut using Simon Says "Stitched Square "Dies.  It was hard to get a decent photograph as the acetate was very reflective.

I am adding this to the current Simon Says Flickr challenge#70 which is "Anything Goes."

Have a great week.

Colour Challenge.

Last year was a quiet year for my card making as I spent time on lots of other projects.  I was keen to update all my orange pine furniture and spent ages painting it, I also found time to make two quilts and also do lots of baking .  I have missed my cards and have decided to enter more challenges this year to keep my creativity challenged.

I saw this Colour Challenge at the newly named Seven Hills Crafts  and decided to have a go.  I was immediately drawn to the warmer colours and decided to go with the Chili Wheel!!

Here is my card , I found it hard to photograph well as I used some vellum with a sheen on it!  Both the banners and backing sheet was cut using my new Avery Elle Dies Pierced Rectangles  and Dotted ELLE-ments.  The large banner was stamped with the Tim Holz Garden Flowers and coloured with distress inks. I then distressed the background with Scattered Straw.

Finally I embossed the Hero Arts Happy Birthday in gold and added the die cut leaves.

I hope you are all enjoying your week, it has turned really cold here after a mild wet December, so I can feel more card making coming on!!

I am back in the swing!!

At last I am back in the swing of card making and have three cards for you today, the first is using all my new Hero Arts stamps and is for the challenge "All Things Embossed Challenge "over at Virginias View.  The background circle is stamped with the Tropical Background and the "Stamp your Own Plant" set.  The embossing sentiment is added onto the vellum.

I am also adding this to the "Girly Challenge" over at the Simon Says Wednesday Blog.

This second card is just a bit of fun, I have a new two new Stitched Die sets from Memory Box and had to play with them.

The third card is another Shaker, just love making these, its a very simple design but all the sparkle makes me smile!!

Hope you are having a great week.

Shake it 2

I am enjoying making Shaker cards at the moment, so here's another entry for the Wednesday challenge at Simon Says!!  I used my Silhouette machine to cut the balloon window in some white cards stock.  I cut the image again and coloured the balloons with Copics then adhered them to the cut image.  The base card just has a piece of patterned paper attached for the background to the window.  I added loads of sequins as its quite a large window and I wanted lots of sparkle!!
I am also linking this card to the Die Cut Challenge at Virginia's View.

The sentiment is cut from this new die from Poppy Stamps.

My DD went to Glastonbury last week and managed to bring home a nasty summer cold with her, unfortunately the whole family has now caught it and we are all suffering!!  Hopefully we will all be better for the weekend as we are hoping to go to a Lavender Festival held locally!

Enjoy your week.

"Shake it " !!

Although they are quite fiddly to make I quite enjoy making Shaker Cards, so when I saw the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge I had to have a go.   I wanted to try something a little different this time so decided to use an old flower die that I have had for ages.  I have made two pockets for the sequins so that they shake easily in both flowers.

I am also going to add this to Challenge#5 over at Virginia's View which this month is Die Cuts!

We have had a "Fun Day" at school which involves lots of different activities, I had  the pleasure of taking 20 boys to the local angling society for a day of fishing.  The weather was fabulous and we all had a great day although I am really tired now so Its going to be a relaxing evening watching the football.

Have a great weekend!!
