Christmas Box Card

after watching a video by Jennifer McGuire on how to make shadow box cards and thought it would be fun to make a little Christmas scene.  I have used various stamps and dies, the little penguins are by Heffy Doodle and the reindeer by Clearly Besotted.  I have stamped and water coloured with my Zig brush markers then die cut.  The background uses a really old house and tree die from Memory Box. the sky and clouds in the background use distress oxide inks and a stencil i made myself.

 

This card folds flat for putting in the envelope but pops up nicely when you stand it .  The video was so easy to follow and I am really pleased with the results, I am sure I will be making more like this.

I am adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes" and the Die Cut Divas Challenge "Watercolouring".

I am off to my daughters for a few days for a visit , I am really looking to playing with my little granddaughter Eva. Enjoy the rest of your week.

Another Platform Card!

I love the platform pop up card die from Lawn Fawn, its perfect for children's cards and so easy to assemble.  For this card I used various animal stamps and dies from Heffy Doodle, stamped and coloured with alcohol markers.  I had fun with this one adding the balloons to signify a 5th Birthday.

 Hope you are enjoying your weekend, it's been very wet and windy here so I am hoping to get more Christmas cards made.

Lets Squash it Challenge

The challenge over at the 'Lets Squash it" blog this month is "Trees and Leaves" and although I don't have any tree embossing folders, I do have lots with leaves on. My only solution was to use this Memory Box house and trees die and use my Altenew "Garden Harmony" embossing folder.

I cut the tree die and coloured with alcohol markers then layered up onto some white card, layering again onto some patterned paper. I then added my green embossed layer and a foiled "congrats" the rest of the sentiment is computer generated.

Boys Birthday!

My daughter asked me to make a dinosaur birthday card for a little boy turning 3, I have not long had this Lawn Fawn platform die and I have been using it a lot lately, it seemed perfect to use it for this card too.  I don't have any dinosaur stamps so went onto google images and found some free colouring pages that were perfect.

I printed and fussy cut three dinos and also the tree and volcano in the background.  I then coloured these with alcohol markers.

 This die is so easy to use and makes a fabulous little card for a child.  My daughter was thrilled with it and the little boy loved it.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge

The challenge this month at Christmas Kickstart is "Poinsettias and Posies"

For my card I used the "Winter Flower" stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, I stamped and embossed the image in gold before loosely water colouring with my Zig brush markers.  I then added some splashes of white gouache paint and some pearls.  The sentiment is hot foiled.

I will also link this to the "Die cut Diva's" challenge "Watercolour"

 Gradually filling my Christmas box but still have a way to go yet.
