Shaped card!

I was lucky enough to find this sweet Hobby Arts stamp in a local Charity shop , perfect for cutsie Christmas cards.  Its quite a small image so I decided to make this small shaped card using some Spellbinder dies.

I stamped and coloured my images with some alcohol markers, I then die cut the present image with a circle die , the holly brach I fussy cut and added to the circle with foam dots.
The sentiment is computer generated and I added some red gems for a bit of sparkle.

Have a great week

CAS Christmas.

I am going away for a couple of weeks tomorrow to my daughters, she is moving house and I am going to help her with the packing.  I wanted to make another Christmas card before I left so decided on this CAS card using a die I won called Holly Stripes by Poppy Stamps.

First I die cut my background blank and ran it through a dotty border embossing folder.  I then cut the holly and placed it over the dots.  Next I added the hot foiled sentiment.

This was a really easy card to make and perfect for batch making , which I may have to do if I don't get a move on with my cards!

Hope you all have a good weekend , I am off to finish packing now.

Birthday Cocktail!

My best friends daughter was 40 this week and I wanted to make her a special card. I used my Quadrant die cut and hot foil plate form Pink Fresh Studios to create the shimmery background which I layered up on a background I made with Distress Oxide inks smooshed to make an ombre effect.

The cocktail stamp is from a set by Tim Holtz and its one I have used a lot, I water coloured the image and fussy cut before layering on my card . I then added the sequins and the hot foiled Happy Birthday.

I am adding this card to the Die Cut Divas April challenge " Water Colouring"as the cocktail is water coloured.

Looking forward to a visit from my daughter and granddaughter this weekend and hoping that the weather improves a little bit!

Have a great weekend

Christmas Baubles

I decided to make a second card for the Christmas kickstart Challenge this month as I found some really old bauble dies in my stash, I haven't used these for a long time!  I die cut them in glittery card stock.
I also had this old embossing folder with baubles on it so I embossed my card and gently rubbed with some Distress Oxide inks. I then added my die cuts raised on foam tape and drew in by hand the string, lastly I added some sequins for extra sparkle.

I have just had a really busy week with the family visiting for half term, its my daughters birthday so lots of celebrating.  Trying to recuperate before I am off next weekend for a short break doing some wildlife photography (my other passion)!

Have a great week

Flowers

I couldn't believe my eyes when I found this gorgeous Memory Box flower die in a local charity shop, it came straight home with me and I had fun creating this card.

I used an old embossing folder from Craft Concepts for the background and used this lovely blue card.

I then die cut the white oval and added my flower die cuts and some gems plus this hot foiled sentiment.

I am adding this card to the Love Flickr group challenge "Anything Goes" and the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Fabulous Flowers".

I am off to my daughters next week for a short break, looking forward to seeing my Granddaughter Eva and having some fun trips out.

Cocktails!

I needed a birthday card for a friend who has a birthday in late December and a cocktail card fitted the bill perfectly.  My background is made with the Pink Fresh quadrant stencil and die using various Distress Oxides colours with the stencil.

I then cut a card base using the die as the front , then foam dots to layer up my coloured die cut.

The cocktail is a stamp by Tim Holtz that I stamped, fussy cut and coloured with my Zig brush markers. The sentiment is hot foiled and from Pink Fresh and lastly I added a few sequins for sparkle.

I am adding this card to the Wednesday challenge over at Simon Says as my Pink Fresh die and stencil are new.

Wishing all my followers a very Happy New Year .

Poinsettia

I have this new Quadrant foiling plate from Pink Fresh and I spent some time creating some backgrounds with it.  I decided to make another Christmas card as the design is perfect to show off other images.

This poinsettia stamp is an old woodblock stamp with dies from Hero Arts,  which I inked and embossed 3 images in rose gold to match the background foiling, I then coloured with Zig Brush markers and die cut the layers.  I also die cut the leafy sprig to layer up under my flower. Again this is an older die and I am not even sure where its from. The sentiment is also foiled, I then just added some sparkly gems.

Unfortunately I have caught a nasty cold and am keeping warm indoors, I should be out getting my last minute shopping but thats going to have to wait till next week now.

Lets Squash it Challenge

The challenge over at the 'Lets Squash it" blog this month is "Trees and Leaves" and although I don't have any tree embossing folders, I do have lots with leaves on. My only solution was to use this Memory Box house and trees die and use my Altenew "Garden Harmony" embossing folder.

I cut the tree die and coloured with alcohol markers then layered up onto some white card, layering again onto some patterned paper. I then added my green embossed layer and a foiled "congrats" the rest of the sentiment is computer generated.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Thanks Card.

I needed a quick Thank You card and as I already had the "Arched Leaf and Flower "  Simon Says die on my desk ready , I cut some more flowers, this time with spring time colours and some gorgeous gingham card from Papermill Direct.

Such an easy card to put together, just added the die cut sentiment and some sequins for added sparkle.

I am adding this card to the challenge at the Simon Says Flickr group "Favourite Technique" as die cutting is definitely one of my favs although I have many favourites!!

I will also add it to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Add a Die Cut"

I have just had a lovely week up in Surrey visiting my new Granddaughter Eva, giving her mum a little break while I took her for long walks in her pram.  I was so lovely spending time with them.

Anniversary!

I needed an Anniversary card and my favourite Simon Says "Arched leaf and flower "die was still on my desk so I cut more flowers!!  This time with coloured cardstock, I also die cut the "Leafy Branch" die in vellum and some pearly white card.

The background is dry embossed with the SSS Crystal Distortion folder, I then added lots of pearls and the rose gold foiled sentiment.

I think the flowers look like cherry blossom!!

I shall add this card to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Anything Goes" and the Flickr group challenge "Dry embossing"

Looking forward to the weekend and hopefully some better weather.

I am adding this card to the challenge at the Simon Says Flickr group "Love is in the Air"

Hexagon Birthday.

After making this card  I still had a few flowers and leaves on my desk so decided to make another card.  This time I went for a hexagon shaped one with some lovely lilac gingham card I had in my stash.

I added a circle of white card to the hexagon and layered up my leaves and flowers till I was happy with the effect.  I then added the pearls and a die cut gold Birthday which is a portion of the Birthday circle card from Simon Says.

I love the look and think I may make my Easter cards in a similar way.  I am adding this card to the current SSS Flickr Challenge "To Die For "

Thinking of spring!

Made this quick birthday card with my new embossing folder "Garden Harmony" from Altenew and my new die set "Arched Leaf and Flower Blooms" from Simon Says. Really pleased with the result as the leaves from the die are very similar in shape to the embossing.

Just added the gold embossed sentiment and the pearls.

I am adding this card to the challenges at the SSS Flickr group and the LOVE Flickr group.

Flower Vase Card!

I had a second go at the flower vase card after following Jennifer McGuires technique video here.

I found some more flower dies that I got years ago from Sizzix and Cuttlebug and cut loads of bright coloured flowers, colouring some and adding pearls for sparkle.  The box for the base I made up myself.

I am thrilled with this second effort, its so pretty and a perfect card for my SIL's Grandma's birthday.

I am adding this card to the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Use dies or punches"

Looking forward to half term next week as at last my family can come and stay for a while, Its been 8 long months and I can't wait to have them stay.  Looks like the weather might cheer up at last too.

Enjoy your week

Sparkle !!

A quick card for the "Make it Sparkle " Challenge over at the Simon Says Wednesday Blog.  Another card using just dies all from Simon Says, I love the L'll Gnome die and I am sure it will feature on a lot of my Christmas cards this year.

Also used the "Leafy Branch" die cut in plain green card and green glitter card. Then added some red berries for more sparkle.

I shall also add this to both the Simon Says Flickr group challenge "Favourite technique"  as Die cutting is fun and easy to do, also the Love Flickr Group challenge.

Have a great weekend

New Die to play with!!

With my recent win at the SSS Flickr group I also purchased this Birthday Circle die,  after all the dreary weather here I am dreaming of Spring and inked up my SSS "Even More Spring Flowers" stamp and embossed the flower in gold multiple times on my card base.

I then coloured the flowers with my Zig Brush markers in bright spring colours, which was very therapeutic , its my water colouring part in Kathy Racs 30 day colouring challenge day 2.. Next I cut the Birthday die and added the sentiment and the blank circle to the card.

I shall add this card to a couple of challenges The Simon Says Flickr Group challenge "Do it with Dies"   The Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes" and their Instagram Challenge "Thinking of Spring"

It certainly does feel Spring like here today the sun is shining and the garden is coming to life, lets hope the rain stays away for a while as we are away next week in Surrey, fingers are crossed lol!

Thanks!

Another card using the "Floral Cluster " die from Simon Says.  This certainly is a versatile die.  This time I have cut one in white and another in patterned  paper and layered them up.  I then adhered to more patterned paper and added the gold die cut sentiment.  Also from Simon Says.  Just added the pearls to finish it off.

I shall add this to both the Simon Says Flickr group challenge and also the SSS Wednesday Challenge.

We have another week of bad weather coming so I am going to be doing a lot of crafting,  hope it cheers up soon!
