A Day Out in Surrey!!

No cards today, but I wanted to share some photographs of the Watts Chapel, this Chapel is only about 2 miles from where I live in the beautiful Surrey Hills.  Its a stunning Art Nouveau inspired building built by Mary and George Watts and the villagers of Compton.  The art work inside is spectacular!!

This is the door in, the tiles round the arch were all made by the women of the village under Mary Watts supervision.

Sorry for the picture heavy post but I was so inspired after my visit today that I wanted to share it with you.
My son took most of these photographs, he has a better eye than me!! If you double click the photographs you will get a larger view!

Now that's my cup of tea!

Its been a while since I have had time to play in the Tuesday Trigger Challenge at Moxie Fab World but after seeing lots of amazing cards inspired by this photo I had to play along.

Just a small card only 4x4 but I have managed to use some of my favourite flower stamps.

Its a long Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK but as usual the weather isn't playing ball and it rained yesterday and today, lets hope it improves tomorrow.

Yippee I have been able to make some cards!

At last my hand is beginning to feel alot better and the swelling has now gone down, which means I have been able to make a couple of cards for the challenge at Hero Arts. I made this first one after spotting the Poste image in the back of my scrap basket.

The second card I made with Barbs Grey challenge in mind, adding a touch of pink!

We are having fabulous weather here at the moment and my garden is looking so pretty I just had to add a photo of my Hibiscus, its been really beautiful this year!

Thanks for visiting.

Back from my Holiday!!

I am back from my two week holiday in the South of France.  This year we stayed in a small town in the Camargue called Ste Maries de la Mer.  It is such a beautiful place that I thought I would share a few photographs with you.

The amazing Roman amphitheater in Nimes, what an incredible building and still used after all these years.

The ancient Roman temple called Maison CarrĂ©e (literally "Square House," named before there was a word for rectangle). The temple rivals Rome's Pantheon as the most complete and beautiful building surviving from the Roman Times

The food was amazing.

In Arles we walked the Vincent Van Gogh trail, here is the hospital garden, the flowers were stunning.

I couldn't resist taking a photograph of this house in Ste Maries, such a beautiful garden!

I have been back for a few days now but unfortunately can't craft at the moment, I have been helping my daughter move some furniture in her classroom and have injured my hand.  Not sure what I have done but its swollen, very sore and I can't grip anything, even typing is painful.  I am still hoping to catch up with a few blogs this week and lets hope my hand heals quickly!!!
