Ombre!!

The Simon Says Wednesday challenge is "Ombre" this week  and this is my entry.  Not a great photo as the light was bad today hense the shadow!   I am also adding this to the new colour challenge at Severn Hills Crafts.

The  Avery Elle  die cut background has been stamps with an ombre Tsukineko green pad, I then added the banners cut with an Avery Elle Die called Dotted ELLE-ments,  The flower is a Simon Says Die and the greeting I cut with my Silhouette.

Just a quick post today as I have housework to do :0(  Have a great weekend.

Colour Challenge.

Last year was a quiet year for my card making as I spent time on lots of other projects.  I was keen to update all my orange pine furniture and spent ages painting it, I also found time to make two quilts and also do lots of baking .  I have missed my cards and have decided to enter more challenges this year to keep my creativity challenged.

I saw this Colour Challenge at the newly named Seven Hills Crafts  and decided to have a go.  I was immediately drawn to the warmer colours and decided to go with the Chili Wheel!!

Here is my card , I found it hard to photograph well as I used some vellum with a sheen on it!  Both the banners and backing sheet was cut using my new Avery Elle Dies Pierced Rectangles  and Dotted ELLE-ments.  The large banner was stamped with the Tim Holz Garden Flowers and coloured with distress inks. I then distressed the background with Scattered Straw.

Finally I embossed the Hero Arts Happy Birthday in gold and added the die cut leaves.

I hope you are all enjoying your week, it has turned really cold here after a mild wet December, so I can feel more card making coming on!!

More Flowers!!

More fun with my new stamps and I have also dusted off an old Hero Arts stamp for this card.  The challenge at A Blog Named Hero this month is One Layer.  First I masked off the edges of a card blank with low tack masking tape.  Next I stamped and white embossed the Old Letter stamp from HA , I then over stamped in Black ink the flower stamp from Tim Holtz. Next I distessed the masked square with Scattered Straw and Spiced Marmalade and finally roughly coloured the flower designs with distress ink and a cotton bud. I then removed my masking tape and added the Hero Arts sentiment.

I was so pleased with how the card worked out that I made another square but this time cut it out and layered on white then fushia card before adding the vellum and card background.   I am adding this card to the Simon Says "New " Challenge.

Hope you are having a good weekend.

Something New!!

I was lucky enough to receive some new crafty bits for Christmas, this stamp set that had been on my wish list for ages ( Flower Garden by Tim Holtz) and some dies from Avery Elle.  The flower stamps are so beautiful and I can see this set becoming a favorite of mine.
Here I have used the Post Card stamp from Hero Arts as my base and then have added these lovely echinacea images which I have water coloured.  I then distresses the background and added some ink splats. Finally I mounted the image onto some white card stock. and added my die cut sentiment.

I am adding this card to the current challenge at Simon Says "Something New"as I used my new stamps!
