Shaker Style!

I so enjoyed making my shaker card yesterday that I decided to have another go.  I already had the Peacock Distressed background made up and as it goes so well with the orange flowers that I also had stamped up a while ago I was ready to go!!  I used the Avery Elle rectangle dies for the Peacock base and the flowers and die cut sentiment are from Hero Arts.  This card fits with three challenges ( a first for me) they are Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Shake It Up"  The ABNH "Sparkle Challenge" and Hero Arts "Flower Challenge"

I am also linking it now to the Classy Cards challenge #125  "Aqua and Coral" thanks Sierra.

Baby Girl

I needed to make a card for my cousins daughter as she is expecting a baby girl soon so I decided to make a shaker card and combine it with the current challenge over at Simon Says.  The front of the card is cut using a design from the Silhouette , I then added some acetate to make the shaker section. I had kept the card quite plain but decided to add the sequins as an after thought, It adds that extra sparkle. I am also adding this to the challenge at A Blog Named Hero which is "A Bit Of Sparkle."

Here is a close up of the shaker section.  I am now off to make a get well card for a man, always a difficult one, I shall have to get some inspiration from Pinterest for that one!!

Fabulous Flowers!

Its a lovely sunny day here in Surrey and I have been thinking of Spring and have been inspired to get  out some flower stamps.  I have made this card for two challengers "The Fabulous Flowers " challenge at Hero Arts and "A Bit of Sparkle" challenge at A Blog Named Hero.

To make the background I cut a rectangle of card with my Avery Elle Die "Pierced Rectangles" then i covered it in Spiced Marmalade distress ink before stamping with Hero Arts "Floral Background" inked with Versamark ink and sprayed with perfect pearls.  I then added the flowers I had made from the Colour Layering Hibiscus Hero Arts Set.  Lastly I added some sequins and the sentiment.

Hope you are having a good week.

One Layer Flowers!

I love this flower stamp from Tim Holtz, the blooms are a great size and are fun to colour. To make this I stamped and masked the blooms to fill the corner of the card then used a rough watercolour technique to add the colour.  I also flicked colours over the card base so the background isn't so stark.  I then just added the Hero Arts sentiment carefully stamping it twice for the shadow effect.
I am adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "One Layer". and the Less is More "One Layer" Challenge.

Its stage two of my birthday celebrations today and I am off to Pennyhill Park for afternoon tea with some girly friends, I can't wait!!

Valentine Shaker !

After a couple of busy weeks I have had time to make a Shaker Valentines card for hubby, the pink panel is made from a piece of card covered in Raspberry Distress ink, once dry I then applied Versamark ink to the Hero Arts Leaf and Floral Background cling and sprayed it with shimmer mist before stamping on the card.  It creates a lovely shimmery background,  I used Avery Elle dies to cut the banners and rectangle.  The heart sprinkles I have had for ages and have been waiting for the perfect card to use them on.  I then cut the sentiment with my Silhouette.

This card is for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Have A Heart"  and also Die Cut Divas challenge "Love Marriage and Anniversary's"

Have a great Sunday.
