Cocktail Time!!

It was my daughters Birthday yesterday, so now she has received her card I can share it here.  We haven't been able to meet up since last October and I am really missing her and my son.  They always love a cocktail so I purchased the fantastic "Cocktails Blueprint" stamps by Tim Holtz , perfect for the card I had in mind.  I inked and stamped the margarita glass and coloured with my Zigs, I then added some Nuvo Glitter paste to the rim of the glass to replicate the salty rim.

The cocktails sentiment is from the internet and I also added half the Simon Says Birthday circle in yellow.  I also die cut her name using Altenews Alphabet dies.

As I did some colouring I will add it to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Favourite Technique".

Longing for Spring!!

Another dull and dreary day here in Dorset and I am longing for warmer weather and the Spring flowers.  Decided to do some water colouring using some bright colours  to cheer myself up. I stamped and embossed in white the Simon Says "Gerbera Daisy Background " and coloured with my Zigs.

I used the SSS "Wavy Scallop Stitches" die to shape and then layer onto some patterned paper.

Lastly adding the sentiment and a few sequins.

I shall add this to a couple of challenges, the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Favourite Techniques as I always love a bit of colouring and also the SSS Flickr Group Challenge "Anything Goes".

Have a great weekend

Embossing Folders!

The "Lets Squash it #5" is to "Love and Red" so as Valentines day is gone this year I decided to make an Anniversary card for my husband.  I used this really old Cuttlebug embossing folder and the Distress Oxide to create an Ombre effect.

I then mounted this onto a red card base and added the different die cut hearts.  The sentiment is part of a Simon Says Happy Birthday cut and then adding the computer generated Anniversary.

This challenge is making me think more about all the embossing folders I have and using them more!!

I will also add this card to the Love Flickr Group challenge,

Another week in Lockdown and its beginning to get frustrating, I was lucky enough to have my first vaccination last week so fingers crossed we can get back to some sort of normal soon.

Have a great week

Slimline Flowers!

The current challenge theme over at the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is to make a slimline card  I decided to ink up this "So Beautiful" stamp set and do some water colouring!  First I cut my card blank and inked and embossed in white the flowers.

I then used my Zig brush markers to colour in using my favourite bright colours. I then layered up onto some red card and added the sentiment.

Its been another exceptionally cold day here in Dorset and we have been lucky enough to see some Lapwings on the field outside our house, a very rare thing to see .  They must have come searching for food , it was such a treat!

Have a great weekend

Christmas Kickstart Challenge.

The challenge at the Christmas Kickstart Blog this month is slimline cards  and I had in mind a card with thee polaroid images on .

I first cut the frame dies in three bright colours, then made the little scenes to go in them.  I used a memory box die for the background snow covered trees and houses, adding snow using Nuvo glitter paste and my Simon Says falling snow stencil.

The little penguins are from the Heffy Doodles set "I wanna build a snowman" which I coloured with Zig markers .

This card has lots of shimmer which is so hard to photograph!

Its turned really cold here again and I have my fingers crossed that we have a little bit of snow so that I can get out with my camera.

Have a great week.

Love is in the Air!!

A Quick valentines card using the Cosmos background stamp from Simon Says stamped and embossed in silver then die cut into the heart shape.  I then water coloured with my Zig Brush markers and layered up onto some brushed silver card.  I then embossed the base card with a bark folder and adhered the hearts. Lastly adding the die cut sentiment.

Love my Zig markers there are so many pretty colours to use.

I shall add this card to both the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Love is in the Air" and the Simon Says Flickr Challenge "Lots of Love"

Its been another wet cold week here but on our daily lockdown walks we have seen the first signs of Spring with Snowdrops and crocuses appearing.  I can't wait for the warmer weather.

Have a great week
