Cocktails!!

The challenge over at the "Lets Squash it " blog is "Without Geometry life is Pointless" well this Simon Says Cracked Distortion embossing folder is my absolute favourite, I have used it on so many cards and it is perfect for this challenge.
The background colour is also my favourite two oxide inks Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean I have put it through the folder using the reverse image so the lines are more defined.
I then stamped this Tim Holtz Margarita cocktail on the back ground and then a second image that I have coloured and fussy cut, layering onto the card with foam tape. I also added some Nuvo glimmer paste to the edge of the glass to look like the salt on the rim.  Added lots of sequins for even more sparkle and a computer generated sentiment.

I think this card could be perfect for a masculine or feminine birthday!

Christmas Gnome.

I recently went on a craft workshop in Devon learning about Gelli Plate printing, it was a great class and I was really inspired by the images you can create using simple household items plus acrylic paint or even Distress Oxide inks.  Of course I got home and ordered my own Gelli Plate straight away!!

When it arrived I had great fun making loads of card backgrounds with my Oxide inks.  This one uses Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio inks and a Snowflake die from Simon Says , I also used bubble wrap which creates a fabulous effect in the ink.

With this background I also ran it through my Crystal Distortion  embossing folder for added texture. I then die cute this cute Li'l Gnome also from Simon Says in this beautiful pool coloured glitter card.

Just a heat embossed sentiment and some sequins and a very simple card.  I am going to have lots of fun with my Gelli Plate!!

I am adding this card to the "Christmas Kickstart Challenge  "From my Gnome to yours" and also the SSS Flickr challenge "Anything Goes".

Enjoy your weekend.

Cocktails!!

This is a card I made for my daughters Birthday back in February, she loves a cocktail so I knew this set from Tim Holtz would be perfect for her.

I was lucky enough to get a Spellbinders hot foil machine for my birthday and wanted to use one of  my trial pieces in the design.  This is the Elegant Oval plate and I have used silver foil, it was the perfect background for my cocktails.

I stamped and coloured with Zig markers my cocktails and then fussy cut , I added them to my card using foam tape for some dimension.  The sentiment is also hot foiled and lurking in the back of a drawer I found some really old foiled sentiment sheets that I used when I first started crafting, luckily I had a silver Daughter sticker which matched perfectly, ( so glad I held on to the sticker sheets, I knew they would come in useful again one day!!).

She was thrilled with her card and although not my usual style I had fun making it.

Have a great weekend
