Christmas Penguins

I need to start building up my Christmas card stash and I already had this background made in my scrap box.  It was made using my Gel plate, oxide inks and the Simon Says Tap Dance stencil, I also ran it through the Simon Says Crystal Distortion embossing folder.

I then added the die cut word and tree also Simon Says.  The little penguins are from Heffy Doodles and have been stamped and coloured with Zig brush markers.

I am adding this card to the Simon Says Flickr group challenge "For the Love of Stamping"

Have a great weekend

Platform Pop Up Birthday!

I have just got the Lawn Fawn " Platform Pop Up" die and have had fun creating lots of cards with it. This first card is for a 1st birthday and I knew these cute animal stamps from Heffy Doodles would be perfect. They are from the "Two by Two Safari " set and the little monkey is from an older Sugar Peas design set.

I stampede and die cut all the animals and then coloured with alcohol markers.  The card itself was really easy to make with the dies provided, I just used some patterned card I had in my stash.

Such a fun card to make.
I shall add this card to the Die Cut Divas challenge, this month its "Anything Goes" and also the LOVE Flickr group challenge. also "Anything Goes".

Hope you enjoy your weekend

Card making at last.

After a few months off following the sad passing of my lovely husband I now feel ready to get back to card making.  Thank you for all your kind words and beautiful handmade cards following my last post, they were much appreciated. Cardmaking is a very relaxing and therapeutic hobby that allows my mind to escape, so perfect to help with my slow recovery.

My first card is for one of my favourite challenges "Christmas Kickstart " this months challenge is "Home for the Holidays"

I have recently got a Jelly plate and have made a few backgrounds with Oxide inks and various dies, this one uses a couple of Simon Says Snowflake dies pushed into the ink. I then added this older Memory Box die cut in glittery green cardstock.  My sentiment is made with a foiling machine.

I really need to get cracking on my Christmas card stash so this card is hopefully the start of my return.
