A Big Storm!!

Well we survived the storm!!  It wasn't actually that bad in Surrey we seemed to miss most of the high winds and there are only a few trees down near here, the worst of the weather was a little further north and lots of houses are without power.

This oak tree came down in Shalford and a large poplar tree came down in our village.

I went with my daughter to visit her school and this tree was partially blocking the road on the way there.

With all the leaves being blown around I decided to play along with the Tuesday Trigger challenge over at Moxie Fab World "Enthralled with Fall" although as you can see from the photographs we don't have those gorgeous colours with our falling leaves.

My card is very simple as I don't have many leaf stamps, just an old Hero Arts , I stamped a few leaves onto some scrap card and coloured and cut out, then mounted them on foam dots for some texture.

Half Term Holidays!!

The schools have all broken up for the half term holidays now and I have at last found some time to make a few more Christmas cards.  The first is using a Wine Label as the backing, I love the effect these create, thank you so much Jacqueline.  The main image is the Winter Town stamp from Hero Arts which I have stamped with distress ink and them spritzed with Shimmer spray to create the snow effect.

The second is just a CAS card but using some gems from Hero Arts so perfect for their current challenge.

In the South of England we are all bracing ourselves for a big storm tonight, lots of high winds and rain, luckily I won't have to go out tomorrow!!  Hope you are having better weather today!

More snowflakes!

After making my snowflake cards yesterday I decided to carry on with the theme and make another for this months Hero Arts Challenge. "A few of my favorite things"  I have used Hero Art Gems and used distress inks so this qualifies in two of the categories.   I have gone with a pink colour theme this time with also qualifies my card for the "Jingle Belles "Pink Christmas "challenge ,for every card entered they will donate $4 to the Susan G. Komen cancer charity!! The shape is made using a new Sizzix die that I won on Paula's Blog,  Thanks again Paula.

The weather is awful here today lots of heavy rain, never mind it means more crafting time!

Scramble Challenge

For the first time in ages I have been able to spend an afternoon crafting, and also for the first time in months I have been able to take part in the Scramble challenge over at the Hero Arts flickr group. I have also entered this in the current Hero Arts Challenge  "A few of my favorite things"

Judy set the challenge this time and all cards had the "Snowflake theme", I had time to complete two cards in the 90 mins, both very simple and of a similar design.

Both have a bit of sparkle!

I am now going to make a few more Christmas cards as I am in the mood.

Have a great weekend.

Snowmen!!

I have had time to make  couple more Christmas cards using my favourite snowman stamp and die from Hero Arts.  The background is also a Hero Arts stamp from last year.  These little cards will be perfect to post out as they are not bulky!!

I am adding these cards to the "Simon Says Wednesday Challenge"  Which is Christmas cards!!

I am having another really busy week, we are still one short in the school office and its a busy time of year.  I am looking forweard to half term and more time to craft!!

Scottish Wedding!!

My son and his girlfriend are going to a traditional Scottish wedding next week and asked me to make a special card for it.  I found the perfect blue tartan ribbon and based my card around it,  the photo doesn't do the ribbon justice as the blue is really vibrant and rich, with the weather the way it is at the moment this is the best I can do!!  I have used the thistle stamp from the Hero Arts elegant weed set and stamped and embossed it in silver.
I am going to add this to two challenges "Shopping Our Stash" which is to use two forms of embossing!! and "Simon Says" Wednesday challenge to use rubber or clear stamps.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

A couple of cards!

Another busy week, we are really short staffed at school, there is alot of illness around and because of that I have been too tired to craft in the evenings!!  Here are a couple of cards I made a while back and didn't post!   This first one is an Autumn themed card that I made for a challenge and didn't get round to posting.

This second card is another Christmas card but using a new stamp from The English Stamp Company called Partridge in a Pear Tree.  This is a mini card, only 4x4, I love this new stamp and I am sure you will be seeing more of it!

Off to relax in front of the TV tonight.
