A Pink Christmas!

After seeing some of Shari Carroll's inking techniques I decided to have a play with my Distress inks and some water colour paper, this is the result which I thought looked a bit like twinkly Christmas lights.  A very simple card  as I have just added the die cut bauble and an old Hero Arts sentiment, I am pleased with the alternative Christmas colours.  I am adding this to the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says and also the "Thread" challenge at Less is More.

I also had time to play with my cute snowman again, I have layered him up on some glitter card for added sparkle.  The sentiment is a really old Hero Arts stamp.

Looking forward to the weekend as we have our family visiting.  Hope you have a great weekend.

"Gift Card"

While I had my Hero Arts Snowman die and stamp on my desk I decided to make a card for the current Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Gift It" . I used my Avery Elle tag die for the card base, I also used another panel of  a Waxed paper embossed background that i had in my stash (see here for the details on how to make this ) Next I cut a piece of card big enough to hold my coffee gift card and also added a glitter card panel to that.  My stamped and die cut snowman is raised up on foam tape for added dimension.  I shall also add this to the a2z scrapbooking challenge "Make it a Tag". All ready now to give at Christmas!!

Its a beautiful sunny Autumn day here in Dorset , I hope the sun is shining where you are.

Shaker Snowman!

Seeing the challenge over at CAS-ual Friodays is " shaker cards" I decided to play along as I enjoy making shakers, the challenge was to make it "clean and simple" I hope this qualifies!! The p[ool background is made using the "wax paper embossed background" technique shown here by Gina K.  The snowman is an old Hero Arts stamp that I love , I have paper pieced his scarf and holly, the message is cut on my Silhouette machine.

Did you see my snowdrop bauble another I couldn't resist when I went to Liberty's in London.

Here is a close up of the shaker, lots of glittery goodness !!!

Have a great weekend,

Christmas is coming!! Let the card making begin !!!!

Last week I traveled to London for some wedding Dress shopping with my soon to be daughter in law,  her mum and my daughter Francesca. Woo Hoo !! We stopped of at Liberty's and there Christmas shop was in full swing.  It was magical they really know how to dress to impress !!!

Lots of amazing baubles all colour coded.

Its a very special place.

Such an historic building too!  I have been inspired and here starts the Christmas great card make!

This CAS design ( picture with a bauble I couldn't resist lol) .  I used a cuttlebug frame embossing folder and the Hero Arts "Colour Layered Christmas Tree".  I am adding this to the "Clean and Simple" challenge over at Simon Says. Also the "Texture"  challenge at A Blog Named Hero.

After months away from blogging at last I can enter challenges again.

This second card is also CAS just made with Die Cuts and a Tim Holtz embossing folder. I will also add this to this weeks Simon Says Challenge and the Merry Monday Challenge 213. ( thanks Betty ).

And if you are wondering we found THE dress and its stunning!!

My new crafting space!!

Its been a while since I posted anything but alot has happened, we have moved from Surrey to Dorset.  We now live in Beaminster a small country village just 6 miles from the sea and set in the rolling hills .  This is the huge lorry that turned up, its hard to believe that the contents of our house actually fitted into this!!

Luckily it was a sunny day and everything went smoothly, there were so many boxes to pack (and later unpack) .

I am so lucky as this is now the view from the front of our house and its also the view from my crafting space.

The field is often filled with sheep, sometimes cows and also occasionally a couple of horses.

We also get to see some beautiful sunsets.

Beaminster is right near the Jurassic coast and this is one of my favorite beaches Burton Bradstock.

I have nearly finished unpacking and at last I have had time to make a card, I have quite a few birthdays in September and October so I need to get my mojo moving!! This card is using some of my favorite stamps from Hero Arts "The Long Stemmed Poppy" and the "Leaf and Floral Background " cling.

Its so good to be back creating, hopefully over the next few weeks I can also catch up with some of my favorite blogs.
