Flower Vase Card!

I had a second go at the flower vase card after following Jennifer McGuires technique video here.

I found some more flower dies that I got years ago from Sizzix and Cuttlebug and cut loads of bright coloured flowers, colouring some and adding pearls for sparkle.  The box for the base I made up myself.

I am thrilled with this second effort, its so pretty and a perfect card for my SIL's Grandma's birthday.

I am adding this card to the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Use dies or punches"

Looking forward to half term next week as at last my family can come and stay for a while, Its been 8 long months and I can't wait to have them stay.  Looks like the weather might cheer up at last too.

Enjoy your week

Stencilled Slimline card!

I was lucky enough to win a gift card for Simon Says last month and my goodies arrives yesterday so I couldn't wait to have a play with them .

I cut some card blanks with the Mini Slimline Rectangles and also cut the Mini Slimline Window.  On the background card piece I used the Spring Flower stencil and Oxide inks and then layered up the window die on foam pads.

The flowers and leaves are from the "Even more Spring Flowers " stamp set and I have embossed in gold, coloured with Zigs Brush markers and fussy cut.   The thanks die is also by Simon Says.

I am really pleased with my purchases and am sure they will get a lot of use!

I shall enter this in both the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Stencil it" and the SSS Flickr challenge "Flowers"

CAS Christmas!!

The CAS Christmas challenge for this month is "Foliage and Berries" and lurking in a box I found this really old Hero Arts holly stamp.  I stamped and embossed in gold onto my base card and water coloured with Zig markers.

I then added some red crystals for the berries for extra sparkle.  The sentiment is also Hero Arts and I embossed it in gold onto some vellum before attaching to the base.  I then layered it all up on a red card .

Another card to add to my Christmas stash, its a steadily growing pile which makes me happy!!

At last we have reached another stage out of lockdown and we will be able to have visitors at home!  I am really looking forward to my kids joining us as they haven't been able to visit since last October.  We are going to celebrate Christmas in May lol!!

Have a great week

Thanks!

My daughter needs lots of Thank you cards for the end of term, she is a primary school teacher and there are always lots of people to thank at this time of year, so I set about making some cards for her.

Made this shaped one using an older Spellbinders die to create the shaped card and the cut a circle out of the front of one of the shapes and ran it through with an embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  I then stamped and embossed in gold  the flowers from the Spring Flowers stamp set by Simon Says colouring them with Zig markers and fussy cutting.

I then arranged them on the front of the card and added some pearls and the die cut sentiment, also from Simon Says.

I am adding this card to the challenge at "Lets Squash it" "Lets make some space and bring on the bling"

Also the current Simon Says Flickr challenge "Flowers". lots more crafting today as we have another wet and dreary day here.

Baby Girl!

There is another challenge up on the "Lets Squash it" blog, this month the theme is "Lets make some space and bring on the bling".

I decided to make a baby card using this sweet button border folder from Cuttlebug.  After embossing the edge of the square cut blank I added some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.  I then stamped the Elephant and Balloon from the Heffy Doodle "Elephant of Surprise " stamp set, coloured with Zig Brush markers and die cut.

The banner die is one I got second hand on Ebay so I am not sure of the brand, I cut two colours of pink and then added the sequins and pearls.  The sentiment is computer generated.  The base card is then layered up on some pink glitter card for even more sparkle.

I love how this turned out and will have to make it in blue too !!  I will also add this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Feminine" .

Santa and Friends!

The theme for this months Christmas Kickstart Challenge is "Santa and Friends" and although I don't have any suitable stamps for this I still wanted to play along !  I hunted through some google images and found this cute colouring page which was perfect.

I downloaded and coloured with my Zig Brush markers and then decided to make a full front shaker card.  I have been wanting to try this technique for ages after seeing some cards on Lucy's Blog.  It was easy to do and I love all the sparkles, I will definitely be using this technique again.

The weather here in the UK has been wet and windy for a while now so I have had chance to make quite a few cards for my stash , I have also been busy making end of term and thank you  cards for my daughters class and support staff.  Great to get these done instead of rushing with them in July!!

Have a good week

Background 2!!

If you saw my last blog post here  you can see the background I made using the Jennifer McGuire tutorial "Distress Ink Transfer ".  For this card I used the other background that was created by doing this technique, as you can see this one is much more vibrant, which I love.  I decided to use it as a base for this feminine birthday card.

The background stamp is an older Hero Arts one called Leaf and Floral Background, I then cut the circle in bright pink card and added the Birthday Circle sentiment from Simon Says.  The little dog is from a set by Sugar Pea designs and |I have stamped and coloured with Zig Brush Markers.

I am adding this card to both the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Feminine" and the Love Handmade cards Flickr group "Anything Goes".

Its wet and windy here again, not sure where spring has disappeared to, never mind it means more time in my craft room.

Have a great weekend

Background making.

I recently watched this Jennifer McGuire video about making lots of backgrounds with a distress ink transfer technique.  Yesterday was a dull day so I got to work and made some backgrounds using this fun technique.

I used distressed oxides for the base  of Pickled Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade
applying them thickly to the base card, drying really well before stamping with a really old Hero Arts background stamp called "Leaf and Floral Background" and embossing in clear. I then spritzed with water and place a blank piece of card on top and ran through my embossing machine.

This background is the resulting print, I will show the other piece later as I haven't made it into a card yet. I really liked the soft look of this piece. Just then added some butterflies made with the SSS Adeline die also coloured with the same inks. and the thanks sentiment.

This was a great technique to do and now I have a set of backgrounds in my stash ready to use.

I will add this card to both  the current SSS Flickr challenge and SSS Wednesday Challenge both "Anything Goes"

Its a lovely morning here so I am off to the garden with a coffee.  Have a great week.
