I was lucky enough to get three stamps from the new Hero Arts collection just before christmas. Have been playing around with them , I love this new border stamp. Stamped the background and embossed in black, then stamped the image again with distress inks and layered on to image.

Card witha Gift
I have at last had time to make a card for this weeks Hero Arts Challenge which is to make a card with a gift enclosed. I have just received the little deer stamp as part of my prize for the challenge a few weeks ago and had to have a play with it. As you can see the card contains some money that I have attached to a tag.
Thank you to everyone that visits my blog and leaves such lovely comments, hope you all have a Great Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I have spent the day putting up my christmas decorations ready for when my daughter gets home from University, the house looks really festive now, we have also had snow which is added to the Christmas spirit.

Spinning card
I had an idea to make a card with a circle on the front that would spin. I used the squiggle trees digital kit and formed the trees into a circle. The base card is made with glimmer mist and then stamped and embossed with the flourish background. I made a hole in both layers and added eyelets. The front spins on the brad. Added lots of glitter for sparkle.
I had lots of fun making this card and think that I gradually getting to grips with digital images. This is another entry for the Caardvarks challenge.

Card Chain Challenge
I have just receiced this card from the lovely Anette as part of the December Card Chain Challenge organised by Deborah what a fun thing to do, its so nice to receive a card from another country. Also from someone who is addicted to crafting like me! The card is really lovely and my photograph doesn't really do it justice as the snowflake really glistens. Just sharing with everyone!

Romantic Christmas
Just a quick entry today, have made this card for my husband I am really pleased with the result as it was a bit of an experiment. I also wanted it to match the tag I made. ( See the last post)
I sprayed a kraft envelope with red and gold glimmer mist, dried with heat gun then stamped with a flourish stamp and embossed in jewelled gold. When attached to the card it looks as if its padded. I am not the best photographer and its quite hard to see. With the antique brocade stamp I deliberately didn't press too hard as I wanted the embossing to have a worn look.
If you click on the photo it will enlarge for a closeup.

Special Tag
Made this by recycling a tag that came on a pair of my sons jeans. It was a very solid card base. Distressed with Fired brick then sprayed with Lava Red and Gold Glimmer mist. Stamped and embossed (in jewelled gold) base with CG119. Added gold edges to tag with a pen.
The label was adheared with pop dots to give dimension. Not my best photo as it is getting dark but hope you can see the shimmer on the background. If you double click on the photo it will enlarge for a better view.
Here is a close up.
This was the label base. Already partially distressed!

Tags
Made these tags using the new digital santa images from Hero Arts. I have always loved making tags as they are like minature cards and you can use up lots of scrap. Have made three tags using the same image but different techniques.
This tag is a mini shaker. I also stamped and embossed the background with clear embossing powder, i did the same with the frame. The top of the tag is stamped with the same snowflake stamp but embossed in gold.
This one is cut with my small labels 8 nestie, stamped and embossed on the edge then distressed with broken china distress ink.
On the third the background is stamped and distressed with fired brick ink. The image is placed on the background and then raised on pop dots. I really enjoyed making the tags and can't wait to add them to some presents!

I have never really tried a sketch challenge before, but there is always a first time and I am always up for a challenge! This is the sketch on the BasicGrey challenge site this week.
Decided to make a christmas card as you can never have enough, used a digital image for the snowman, printed him a few times and layered up with pop dots. I have highlighted him with a clear glitter pen.

Two cards for the Caardvarks challenge.
After a really busy week I have at last found some time to make a few cards. The Butterfly one is actually for my Aunts birthday. I found this lovely chintzy paper that I thought she would love and based my card around it. I used the kissing technique to reverse the image of the butterfly so it would go with my flower stamp. Added lots of buttons and pearls and the contrasting ribbon. Have entered this in the Caardvarks colouring challenge
PP: K & Co. Stamps: Hero Arts.
I Love this baby image and have made a few cards using it. Coloured the images with copic markers. Another entry for the caardvarks challenge.
Duck Stamp: Rubber Stampede. Baby Stamp:Stampendous.
The weather has been awful in the UK this week lets hope it cheers up soon.

Using scraps
Decided to make two more cards to use up paper from my scrap box.. Love the BasicGrey Wassail paper and have used it alot but I had lots of strips of it in my box . So made another card on the same lines as the Rudolf one.
Added this button as I got the lovely santa image free from the Graphics Fairy.
Really like Shari's acetate tree card on the Hero Arts Blog this week, as I have a huge jar of old buttons that I inherited from my mum , I knew I had to have a go at the tree design. I sprinkled some gold glitter on the wet glue to fill the gaps. The pink background was left over after making a card for Lucy's challenge not sure if the colours are really right together but I like the overall effect.
Thanks for all your lovely comments, they are really appreciated.

Rudolf the red nose reindeer.
Quickly created this card for this weeks Hero Arts challenge ( to use up scraps and trimmings). I am addicted to challenges , I love making cards for them as it really gets my brain working. My own form of "brain training". As this card has bling on it as well and lots of BasicGrey paper have entered it in the BasicGrey challenge.

Lucys Challenge
This is my entry for Lucy's first challenge, just love Lucys blog so had to join in. Had fun with this one as I enjoy using these colours . The background papers are both from the free download at 2Peas. The butterfly is hero arts and the flourish is by Rhonna Farrer.
The butterfly has lots of pale blue glitter on it which doesn't show well on the photograph. Its a really dark dreary day here in Surrey!

Pastel Christmas
I love this pastel blue polka dot paper that I downloaded FREE from 2Peas so I had to make a couple more christmas cards with it. The snowman is stamped on acetate and glittered from behind just as Lisa showed in her video this week on the Hero Arts blog.
The poem on the top card is "The night before Christmas" which I downloaded from google and printed straight onto the PP. Thanks to Lucy for the tip for this one.

I have been really busy this week and have only just had time to sit and make some cards. This is for the Hero Arts glitter challenge This is a very simple card made with die cut snowflakes that have been glittered and layered up with pop dots. The background paper I downloaded free from 2Peas here. Love all their free kits. Added a ribbon and some bells.

Easel Card
This is a card I have made for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge for an Easel card. I love to fold card to try and make different shapes so this was right up my street. An easel card is a new design to me so had to have a go. Also had to make a birthday card for a friends daughter so hence the teddy bear theme, also the very girly colours as she is a very girly 2 year old!

Circle card and Christmas place settings
The place settings are for the challenge on the "Cards"magazing blog. The challenge was to make some place settings for thanksgiving, as we don't celebrate thanksgiving in the UK changed them to settings for christmas. (I hope thats allowed!!) Inside the setting is a small pack containing two after dinner mints.(Yummy).
Also after seeing the lovely Vanessas beautiful baby cards, I was inspired to make one myself. This is for the current challenge on the Caardvarks blog ( A circular card). I decided to make a shaker card as I really enjoy making them.

Two cards and two challenges
Two more challenge cards, the first is for the Hero Arts current challenge of using unexpected colours on a christmas card.
The second is for the current Caardvarks "Circle of friends" Challenge. The challenge is to make a circle card with pizazz, hope this fits the bill. Have used an unusual colour combination on this one but I think it works!!

Thank you
The challenge on this weeks cards magazine blog is to use newspaper on your card. Made the flower by tearing circles of newspaper distressing and pleating to achieve a flower shape. The background is using Jennifer McGuires distressing on print technique.
I am off work with a bad throat infection, I can hardly speak but I can still craft. I am thrilled as I have just had an EMail to say that I won this weeks challenge on the Do-Crafts site with my owl card, its made me feel so much better!!

This card covers two challenges, one on the Moxie Fab World blog a plum colour challenge and the Hero Arts challenge to use unusual colours in you christmas cards, I think this fits the bill as I would never normally used plum on my christmas cards, I am pleased with the effect though.

Embellish Owl
This is my card for the current challenge on the Embellish Magazine blog site. The challenge is to add an owl to your card. The card must contain the colours, Sage green, Coral and Brown. The ribbon running along the bottom is dark brown and sparkly to add a bit of bling!!
The photo has darkened the colours I used they are a lot lighter in real life.
Not sure of the origin of the owl stamp as it was sent to me in a box of goodies from a Hero Arts blogging friend.

Christmas
Made two cards for the current Hero Arts challenge. Both simple christmas cards. Once designed they were really easy to make. Perfect for making cards in bulk.
Used the same Hero Arts small tree stamp on both cards but in a different way. The first was stamped in green onto cream card and gems added, the second was stamped in blue onto patterned paper and then gems added. I like the idea of the PP gives the trees a completely different look.

Elmor
The band my son Tristan plays for had the biggest gig of their career yesterday when they played to about 20,000 people at the Tailgate party, before the big NFL game at Wembley Stadium, London. It was very exciting for them all and they had an amazing day. Just sharing a few photos with you. ( Tristan is the one wearing the hat, he plays lead guitar)
