More fun with my new stamps!!

I am having great fun with my new stamp set Flower Garden by Tim Holtz, I was also lucky to get some new Dies for Christmas and I used this "Dotted Die" Avery Elle for the base card and the  banners. I have watercoloured the flowers and distressed the card with Scattered Straw Ink.  The
" Happy" was cut using my Silhouette .

I can see that this stamp set is going to be used alot!!

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!"

Last Minute Christmas

I knew I would need more Christmas cards after my daughter had been to see me ( she raided my stash!!) so I quickly made these two yesterday, I might still need a few more lol!  Just when I thought I had finished for this year.
These two were quick to make, I used a Tim Holz embossed background and just added some sparkly die cut snowflakes and an embossed sentiment.   I shall add this to the Wednesday challenge at Simon Says which is Die Cuts.

The second card is similar although I have used a home made stencil and silver ink for some of the snowflakes.  The sentiment is one I have had for a while in my box.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Flowers!

After seeing this article and beautiful card by Debby I was inspired to colour on some vellum, first I stamped and embossed the Poppies by Hero Arts with Antique Verdigris embossing powder and then coloured in with a mixture of Distress markers and Copics. After cutting with a fancy edge die from Avery Elle, I then layered up the image onto some linen look grey card stock .  Finally adding the pearls and bakers twine, I have left off the sentiment as I like to have some blank cards ready to add the sentiment when needed.

Here is a close up of the image, I love the effect of the embossing powder, so pretty.

Here is a second card for the Simon Says Tag challenge, I have also based this on Debby's gorgeous card, I have cased her sketch.  I was fun playing with non Christmas stamps for a change!!

Still making Christmas Cards!!!

Well two weeks till Christmas and I am still making cards and tags, I think this is the last now although my daughter might have other ideas as she usually gives me a last minute order!!  This card is a really simple CAS design with a die cut word using my Silhouette and the Hero Arts snowflake stamp embossed with silver.  I am adding this card to the challenge at Virginia,s View.

This second card is made using an image I found online, I have just coloured with Copics and added lots of glitter!!

Now for some last minute tags again using my Silhouette machine and lots of glitter card. So simple to make , I am adding these to the Simon Says blog Wednesday challenge,

After making all the cards it was time to bottle up the Blackberry Gin I have made for Christmas, a little over that didn't fit in the bottles so a little sample for me!! Cheers!!

A Card and a Tag

A card and tag using the Winter Town stamp from Hero Arts.  This card is for the current challenge at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Blog and also for the "Glitter " challenge at Virginias View.  I have added some glitter glue to the snowflake and Sakura glitter pen to the snowy roofs for lots of sparkle.

Made this little tag using scraps from playing with this stamp, also added a die cut tree and some stickles.  I am adding this tag to the current challenge at The Divas that cut paper Challenge.

Its a lovely bright day here so just off for a walk before the rain sets in.

Snow and Poinsettia's.

I am still making Christmas cards, I have two very different ones for you today both made with my favourite Hero Arts stamps.  This first card is using the Winter Town stamp.  I stamped the image in an ombre blue and then cut it out using my new Avery Elle die,  I have layered it up first on glitter card and then on some blue card.  I attached the vellum sentiment with my sewing machine and adhered the whole thing to a white card blank.  I am adding this to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Let it Snow" and also to Virginia's View challenge #21 "All about Glitter", just a suttle amount of glitter but it certainly adds a sparkle.

For my second card I have used the "Peace Poinsettia"  first stamping the Kraft backing repeatedly in silver, then stamping onto red card and embossing in gold.  I have also added a Wink of Stella to the red card for extra sparkle.  I have finished with a sentiment cut on my Silhouette machine and some red twine.

Hope you are having a good week.

Three Cards One Stamp!

Here are three Christmas cards I have made using the same Hero Arts Stamp "Winter Town", I also decided to stick to the colours kraft, silver, white and red.  I like the homely feel of kraft and I also stuck tp a fairly CAS design.  For this first card I have also embossed the card with a snowflake folder.

For this one I have added a red background and the town image has been stamped twice and I have layered it up on sticky dots.  The Merry die is from Memory Box.

This is the simplest of all with the addition of some gingham ribbon.

I hope you are enjoying your week.

A Card and a Tag!

Here are a couple more projects I have made using my new Sizzix machine,  this first card is a case of a card I made last year, this time I have embossed the background with a bark embossing folder  and also used craft card for a rustic look.  The Merry Christmas script is from a really old Hero Arts Set called Holiday Messages, and the Bauble is a Memory Box die.  I am adding this to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Christmas" and also the Make The Day Special Challenge as it is based loosely on their sketch.

My second project is a tag using scraps from my basket, I have added lots of shimmer with glitter glue and liquid pearls.

Its turned really cold here but the sun is out so we are off to Petworth Park for a long walk, have a great weekend,

Christmas Baubles!!

I had such a surprise last week when I received an email to say I had won this amazing prize, its the Big Shot Pro which can take A4 card plus three dies for patch working.  It arrived this week so I couldn't wait to use it and have been embossing and die cutting all morning.  Here are two of my cards.

A sparkly bauble cut with a Memory Box die and layered onto a die cut rectangle (from Avery Elle) and then layered again onto an embossed (Not sure where this is from).  I am adding this to the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says.

Here is my second card using the same folder and bauble die, I just added some sequins and highlighted the line with a gold gel pen.

I am off to do some more experimenting.  Have a good week.

Sketch Card Challenge

I decided to play along again with the challenge over at the "Make the day Special Blog" again, this month its a sketch challenge.

This is my card, I have used an older Hero Arts Snowflakes stamp for the background, stamping and embossing it with "White Pearls"  I have used this Avery Elle "Double Pierced Rectangle die" to create the background and the smaller rectangular tag.  The tag I have stamped with another older Hero Arts stamp called Winter Town.  I have added lots of shimmer with my Wink of Stella pen although you cant see this in the photograph.

A little close up to show some of the shimmer.

Just sharing some good news, my son Tristan has just got engaged to his girlfriend Katie, I am really excited as they have said I can help with making things for the wedding, including all the invitations!!  Its not for a while yet but my creative juices are already flowing!!!!

Thanks

I have had such a busy week and have just realized that I haven't added the card I made for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge yet.  The weather is so dull and dismal here that its been hard to get a good photograph of it, this one will have to do!! The stamp is an old Hero Arts one that I have watercoloured with distress inks. The Thanks die is from Simon Says Stamp.

Hope you are having a good week.  I am just off to my daughters school to hear some children read.

Hero Arts Scramble

On Saturday afternoon while hubby was watching sport on TV  I had an hour or so to spare, so I took part in the 90 minute scramble over at the Hero Arts flickr group.  Its been a while since I took part in one of these but the timing was right so I had a go.  Heather set the challenge, which was to make some tags and used a recycled item on the tags.
I had time to make two entry's, the first was fairly simple as I had all the stamps still on my desk after making these cards.  My recycled items are the tiny foam stars at the tops of the trees , I rescued these from a card I received last year. ( I am always saving bits off cards and presents)

The second tag uses a background cut from a card that I made and didn't send as I didn't really like it!  I rushed this one too finish in the 90 minutes and the coloring on the Santa is not really up to scratch!

I am going to add these to this weeks Wednesday challenge at Simon Says.

It was fun taking part and I have some tags made ready for Christmas!

Christmas is coming!

As promised here are some more Christmas cards, three different cards but there seems to be a bit of a blue theme!!  This first card uses a Memory Box die and some glittery card. The sentiment is an oldie by Hero Arts.

This next card uses another old Hero Arts stamp, "Winter Town" I have stamped it with Faded Jeans Distress ink and cut with a Spellbinders oval die before framing with some glitter card.  The tree is the Hero Arts "Layered Tree."

The third card is based on the last one but this time I have made it into a shaker card.

Have a great weekend.

A Walk in the Park

No cards today, we have had a beautiful sunny day so the perfect opportunity to go for a walk in Petworth Park a huge deer park in the ground of Petworth House just up the road from us.  It was a photographers dream today as the lighting was perfect. Here are a few snaps from the day.
First some beautiful Toadstools.

The glorious Autumnal colours.

Some of the deer, these were eating chestnuts that were falling off the trees.

 Mum feeding her young.

Lastly a stag enjoying some acorns.

I shall post some more cards later in the week.
