Sparkle and shimmer!!

Sticking with the Christmas cards as I have a few made that I haven't posted.  Made this using the new Simon Says Outline Merry Background.  I distressed a background blank with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and let it dry, I then stamped and embossed in WOW Clear Sparkle powder which gives a lovely shimmery effect, very hard to see in the photos!

I then got a paintbrush and water coloured the letters with the same Distress Oxide inks.

I then added the die cut Chunky Merry from Simon Says and the Christmas cut from the Holiday frames die. This card is so sparkly and shimmery its such a shame I am not able to capture it for you to see!

I shall add this to the Christmas Kickstart Challenge "Anything Goes Christmassy" also the SSS Flickr Group challenge and the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Sparkle and Shine"

Hope you all had a great Christmas considering the current restrictions and here's wishing everyone a healthy and happy 2021.

Christmas Gold!

I was given a roll of luxury gold wallpaper by a neighbour and it makes a fabulous background on my cards. I have cut a base from the wallpaper and the stamped and embossed in gold the SSS Christmas Outline background.

I then added the die cut Chunky trees and the chunky Merry die cut.

Still making cards to keep me busy, our Christmas is basically cancelled, I am upset and disappointed but cardmaking helps keep me going.  Its such a great hobby.

Christmas Cheer!

We are now in a new lockdown situation and very sadly I will not be seeing my son and daughter for Christmas. I am so disappointed as we have not seen each other since the summer, I was really looking forward to them coming down to Dorset for a few days.  Christmas is going to be very different this year for a lot of families, one saving grace is that the weather is looking better, much colder but dry so we plan to take a flask and some sandwiches to the beach.  A new experience but we are going to embrace it!!

I made another card with my new Simon Says goodies, this time a slimline card and the gorgeous Outline Merry Christmas background stamped and embossed in white on a distressed background.  Added the new Chunky Merry die and some cute reindeer from Clearly Besotted.

I am adding this to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Christmas Critters" and the SSS Flickr Group challenge "Anything Goes"

Hope all your Christmas plans work out for you.

Still more Christmas cards!

Although I have made and sent all my cards for this year < I have had some new items arrive from Simon Says as part of a challenge I won and I just had to play with them!  Means I am getting an early start on next years cards lol!!

First I cut a base panel and distressed it with Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks letting it dry well.  I then stamped and embossed in silver the Outline <Merry Christmas background stamp.

I then die cut the SSS Merry in white and silver glitter as well as the baubles in red and white.  I have had these bauble dies for ages and I am not sure of the brand.  The merry and central bauble have been raised of foam pads for dimension.

I shall add this card to the "Anything Goes" challenge over at the Simon Says Flickr Group. and also the Die Cut Divas "Anything Goes" challenge

I am now ready for Christmas and fingers crossed will be seeing my son and daughter at some point,  its been such a strange year here's hoping it improves next year!

I next stamped coloured and die cut my Clearly Besotted reindeer from the "Lets Prance" set. I then raised them up on some foam for dimension.

Lastly I added the Silver embossed sentiment also from the same set.  I will also add this to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Christmas Critters"

Christmas Gift Box

I had fun creating this little Christmas gift box that I wanted for a small present I had.  Used my silhouette machine to cut the box using holographic mirror card for the base and white for the lid.

I then added some die cut snowflakes using Simon Says dies  and a sparkly gem.

I then added a tag made using the "Chunky Merry" die also from Simon Says.

I am really pleased how this turned out and it was really simple to make!

I am adding this to the anything goes challenge at the Simon Says Flickr Group and the Love Flickr Group.

Hope you are all keeping safe and well

Let it Snow!

At last we have a new computer so no more struggling with our ancient, very slow one . Its been difficult during lockdown with the old one but we are at last up and running again!!

I have just got this new Forest Border Embossing folder from Simon Says as part of a gift card I was lucky enough to win.  I love that its such a deep emboss and creates really crisp images.

This first card is really simple, I inked up the folder with Hero Arts Cornflower ink and ran through my machine, I was really pleased with the crisp background.  I then flicked the card with white gouache to create the snow adding some crystal gems for added sparkle.

The sentiment is a section of the Simon Says Holiday frames die that I have backed with some gold mirror card and foam taped to the card. A very simple card and one perfect for batch makes!

I am adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Let it Snow" and their Flickr Challenge "Anything Goes"  also the Lets Squash It challenge "Using an embossing folder and dies"

Hope you are having a great weekend

Ho Ho Ho !!

I have just got some new goodies from Simon Says from a prize I won on the flickr group challenge and couldn't wait to have a go with them.  I chose this Ho die as I thought I could use it a lot when making my Christmas cards.

I cut a shaped card base using some older dies and distressed the background with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide.  I then die cut the words using red glitter paper and stuck them to my base.  Lastly I added a "Clearly Besotted" reindeer coloured and die cut and raised using foam tape. Lastly I added a red gem for Rudolph's nose and some glitter stars.

I shall add this card to three challenges - Christmas Kickstart challenge "Twas the night before Christmas"  and the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Fun with Dies" plus SSS Flickr challenge "Anything Goes"

Hoping to put up our decorations tomorrow, its so dismal and wet I want to cheer the place up a bit!!

Do you wanna build a snowman!

I thought I would try another slimline card as it is really challenging my creativity,  I am so used to making smaller cards but am loving this longer shape. Even though I am finding them a lot harder to photograph.
For this card I cut a scalloped background in light green glitter card and then a white base card for the scene.  I have distressed the background with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks.  The Simon Says Snowflake border has been embossed with white glitter powder for lots of sparkle , I then added the snow embossed border.

The penguins are from the Heffy Doodle stamp set "I wanna build a snowman" which I have coloured with Zig markers and fussy cut .   The sentiment is computer generated.

We are still having computer issues and as we are in lockdown at the moment I am hoping its going to struggle on ! Its such a beautiful day here today bright but cold so we have just been on a six mile walk in the fields around Beaminster, I am lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world!

Another Gnome card!

Just love this Gnome die from Simon Says and I have used it a lot on cards this year.  Went for a fairly simple design with this one,  I distressed an oval onto a piece of card with Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade Oxide inks.  The Tree is also from Simon Says , I stamped onto Green card and embossed with a glitter green powder, and fussy cut.

I stuck the tree to the card and used some brown card for the trunk, the gnome has been stuck with foam tape for some dimension.  I then added the sequins and a computer generated sentiment.

Adding this one to the Simon Says Flickr challenge "Holiday Cards" and the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes"

Hope you are having a relaxing weekend.

A card remake!

I was so pleased with how this Gnome card turned out that I decided to have another go using these cute reindeer stamps from Clearly Besotted.  I already had the distressed background as I made two last week while my blending brushes were still coloured red! I then added the gold glitter die cut snowflake border from Simon Says and some sequins to add more sparkle.

I then stamped and coloured the reindeer, die cut and pop dotted them onto my card.  The sentiment has been computer generated.

I shall add this card to the Christmas Kickstart Challenge who's theme is "Twas the night before Christmas"  hopefully Santa's reindeer will be racing across the sky on Christmas Eve!

I will also add it to the Simon Says Flickr Group Challenge "Holiday Cards" and the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Christmas"

Its a lovely day here and I am hoping to get out in the garden before it turns much colder later in the week.  Have a great week.

Christmas Penguins!!

Another Christmas card to my stash and another slimline design, I am enjoying making this shape for a change and it is challenging me to think of different ideas.

I am adding this to both the " Lets Squash it" challenge and the "Christmas Kickstart" challenge as they both have the same theme this time "Christmas embossing and stamps".

First I cut three squares using SSS dies and then embossed using the Snow Crafts Too folder. I then distressed with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks also adding some glitter glue to the snow for lots of shimmer. I then added a background scalloped square to the shapes.  The penguins are from Heffy Doodles and I have coloured with Zigs and fussy cut. For more sparle I added the glittery die cut snowflakes!

A fun card to make with lots of different elements.

Hope you are having a relaxing weekend

Christmas Gnome!!

I have seen a lot of slimline cards over the internet lately so decided to make one for a change, I did find it hard to photograph well though  and the red fooled the camera a little too.

The back panel has been distressed with Festive Berries, Barn Door and a touch of Seedless Preserves round the edges.  I then die cut two Simon Says Snowflake Borders from gold glitter card, I stuck this to the top of the card and added some red and gold sequins for extra sparkle.

Next I die cut the Simon Says Li'l Gnome ann some patterned paper and pop dotted it up onto the card.

The sentiment is computer generated.

I am adding this to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge and both the SSS Flickr Group and The Love Handmade cards Flickr Group.

We are halfway through a months lockdown here in the UK and the weather has been awful, can't wait to get out for a walk starting to get cabin fever lol.  Thank goodness I have my crafting!!

Let it Snow!!

I made another Christmas card with the Christmas Kickstart Challenge in mind using stamps and an embossing folder from "Crafts Too".  For the background I used a brayer on the inside of the embossing folder and some Cornflower ink from Hero Arts, I then placed my die cut square in the folder and ran through my Sizzix machine.

The die cut letters are made using the Altenew letter set , I have layered up two of each and added some glitter glue to the tops of the letters, not easy to see and the best photo I could get as the weather has been dark and dreary this weekend!  The penguins are from a set from "Heffy Doodles" called "I wanna build a snowman".  I stamped fussy cut and coloured with Zig brush markers.

I will also add this to the "Lets Squash It challenge" as they have joined forces with Christmas Kickstart this time!
The sun has at last come out and I need to go for a walk, getting cabin fever here lol!!

Christmas parcels!

Trying to build up my stash of Christmas cards as it was raided a few weeks ago by my daughter!!  This Pile of Gifts die from Simon Says is great for quick and easy cards and looks great with glitter card behind it!

I also added Mirror card bows in red and adhered to a red card base, the sentiment is computer generated, I love the CAS look and so quick to make too!

Its been torrential rain and high winds here today so plenty of time to craft.

I shall add this card to both the Simon Says Flickr group challenge and the Love handmade cards group challenge "Anything Goes".

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
