More Christmas Cards

Another card for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge this week "CAS Christmas".  I have used my Memory Box dies to create this card and added a watercolour background and some glitter for added sparkle.

Also I have had another go at this card using a different colour for the background, making it "sunny" rather than night!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

CAS Christmas!

This weeks Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says is "Clean and Simple"  and this is my card.  I have just received the new Colouring Layer Christmas Tree stamp from Hero Arts with the matching Die and wanted to ink it up.  I have inked and then with the last layer white embossed to look like snow.   I have layered it onto some watercolour paper that has been stamped and embossed with the Circle Snowflake stamp and then washed with distress ink.

Just a short post as the sun is shining and we are off for a walk.

Water colours at last!

I love all the watercolour cards around at the moment but have always struggled with the technique myself.  Then I saw this amazing card by Lindsey and after watching her excellent video I had to have a go myself.  I have CASED her fabulous card here.  (Thank you Lindsey, I couldn't have managed it without you.)

I am very pleased with the result and will definitely be trying this again.

Its been a While!!

Its been a while since I entered a challenge at Simon Says, I have had a busy summer with lots of other crafting projects on the go, but after receiving some new Hero Arts stamps I was inspired.  This weeks Wednesday Challenge is " No Designer Paper"  This is my card using the Hibiscus stamp and die plus a really old stamp called Flower Box.

Looks like we are heading for a sunny weekend, I hope the weather is good for you too.

New Stamps!

I have just got some new Hero Arts stamps and dies so have spent the afternoon playing with them.  I needed a Birthday Card so used the Colour Layering Hibiscus stamps, I can see I am going to get lots of use out of these, so pretty!

My next card is using The Poinsettia stamp , another pretty addition to my collection of Christmas Stamps. I have stamped and added a gold embossed border with the layering edge.  I have also added lots of sparkle with my Touch of Stella pen.

I wanted to add a few photos taken when we house sat last month.  This is my cousins beautiful cat Bella (very apt name).

He also has lots of visitors to his garden, here is the very tame fox , he also has badgers but I couldn't get a decent photo of them as they only arrive at dusk.

Here also is a very tame pheasant, I love the stunning colours of this bird.

We are having good weather here at the moment so I am making the most of it and spending lots of time outdoors. Hope you are having a great week.

Makeover Challenge

I realized that it was about time that I started making my Christmas cards as I have lots to make, (I usually start in August)  I have made this card for the Makeover Challenge at Hero Arts and its based on a card I made last Christmas.  There is a photo of it at the end of the post.

It was very difficult to photograph so that you could see the shimmer of the gold embossing, hence the strange angles! The script on the card is a very old Hero Arts stamp called International Christmas Script and the Poinsettia is a new set , I don't have the matching Die yet so had to fussy cut the flower out, I also stamped it twice and layered up the inner petals.

Here is the original card from last year.  Hope you are having a great week.

Missing in action!!!!

OM Goodness its been such a long time since I posted anything on my blog, I have had a long hot glorious summer with not much crafting time, more on that later!!

At last I am joining in some challenges and getting back into the swing of visiting some of my favourite blogs.  My first challenge has to be the Hero Arts one always my favourite stamp company.
This months challenge is a "Makeover Challenge" so I trawled through my cards and decided to give this card a makeover and hopefully a more modern CAS look.

I made this card back in December 2013 and was a card I had cased from one made by Jacqueline, I love the soft arty look but wanted to update it a little.

I am pleased with the cleaner look.

I wanted to add some photographs of my wonderful holiday in beautiful Lake Como ,Italy.

Stunning Argegno, on Lake Como.

What a view!!

The food was amazing!

Pink Prosecco and Italian style Tapas!

The sunrise from our balcony was amazing!

Hope you have all had a great summer.

Circles!

After all my sewing efforts I have come back to a bit of card making this week.  I made this circular card for the Wednesday Simon Says Challenge "Get in Shape".  I have used an old favorite wooden stamp "Petals of Beauty" from Hero Arts.  It is stamped with Pale Tomato and Red ink and then cut with some circle dies.
Hope you are having a great week.

A New Project!!

I have not posted for well over a month as I have been busy with a new project, using up all my scraps of material that i have collected over the years.  This is my first ever quilt but I so enjoyed making it that I know there will be more!  Its only a simple square design and only a lap sized quilt but I am thrilled with the finished result. Also my scrap pile is alot smaller!!

This is a back view, to save money with buying a big piece of fabric for the backing I have used a bed sheet but just added a panel of more scraps of material.

For a finishing touch I also added a label!!

I hope to find time now to visit a few of my favorite blogs!
