Christmas Kickstart Challenge

The Christmas Kickstart Challenge is use an Christmas embossing folder and stamps so here is my entry, this is an old embossing folder from Provo Craft, I have followed a technique I saw somewhere online, sorry I can't link as I am nor sure where I saw it. For this I inked up the embossing folder in green and then stamped onto the folder with some snowflake stamps from Hero Arts.

When you run this through your sizzix machine the ink and stamped snowflakes are transferred onto the card as you can see in this close up.  Its very subtle but looks effective.

Next I got a foam dabber and lightly brushed Cracked Pistachio and Scattered Straw ink over the embossed surface, finally I added some Nuvo drops to highlight the features on the tree. A fun technique that I will definitely try again.

I shall also add this card to the Lets Squash It challenge.

Have a great weekend

One die two cards!!

I have been adding to my Christmas card stash today creating two very simple but different cards with the "Leafy Branch" die from Simon says Stamp.  For this first card I have cut a white square and distressed with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks.  I then cut two of the dies , one in Gold and the other white. I adhered to the card using the gold for the leaves and adding some red gem berries and a sentiment.

Such a simple and quick card to make.

For this second card I have coloured some of the leaves with a Zig marker and have stuck to a gold backing card.

I shall add both these cards to the current Flickr challenge "Holiday Cards".

We are currently on Lockdown so I am sure I will be adding to my card stash, just keeping fingers crossed that my computer keeps going till the non essential shops are allowed to open!

Festive Florals

The theme for the challenge over at The Christmas Kickstart Challenge this time is "Festive Florals" so I just had to play along.  This poinsettia stamp is an old Hero Arts one but its still one of my favourite's. I stamped and embossed in gold and the die cut with the matching dies. The backing paper is some beautiful gold wallpaper given to me by my neighbour. After layering up the die I added some Gems and the gold embossed sentiment.

Really pleased with this card as its so shiny. and Christmassy.

We are having major computer issues at the moment and wasn't sure I could get this on in time, we are also in lockdown again so just hoping we can limp along with the computer till the end of November.

Have a great weekend

Triple Play!

Made this card for the "Triple Play" Challenge over at the Simon says Flickr Group  using three different trees!  "Stamped the Festive Trees" from Simon Says and embossed with Rose Gold powder before fussy cutting the trees.  Decided to make a long slim card as it best suited these trees, I then cut a blank for the base and gently distressed it with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks.

I then pop dotted the middle tree for dimension and just stuck the other two trees to the base.  Lastly I added lots of pearls and gems.

I decided against adding a sentiment as I couldn't decide where to put it!!

I shall also add this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes".

Hope you are enjoying your week.

Lets Squash it!!

There's a new challenge on the block set up by my blogging friend Jo and her friend Gail called "Lets Squash It" and its all about using those long forgotten Embossing Folders gathering dust in your stash ( well they are in my craft room I have loads that haven't see the light of day for years!!)

The first challenge is "Geometric and metallic" so I dug around in my drawer and found this lovely geometric square design folder, unfortunately I don't know who makes this one as there are no names on it but I love the design on the white card.

The star is made with a really old sizzix embossing/stencil that i have used with some Gold glitter paste (hope that counts as metallic) and then cut out, the die Merry Christmas is my Simon Says.

I shall also add this to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Anything Goes"

Another wet and windy day, so lots of crafting being done!!

Have a good week

Pink Snowflakes!

Made this pink Christmas snowflake card for the challenge over at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge Blog  the theme is Pink Christmas.

First I cut loads of snowflakes in different card using Simon Says dies. Next on my base card I smooched over some Raspberry Distress ink using acetate and a water spray.  After letting it dry I adhered all the snowflakes.

I then added some pearls and the sentiment.

I love the pink for a change, not my normal Christmas colour but I like it, also like the slim long card , haven't made one of these for ages.

I shall also add this to both the Simon Says Flickr challenge and the Love cards Flickr challenge.

Autumn has definitely arrived here and the days are colder, missing summer!!

Have a great week

Sparkle !!

A quick card for the "Make it Sparkle " Challenge over at the Simon Says Wednesday Blog.  Another card using just dies all from Simon Says, I love the L'll Gnome die and I am sure it will feature on a lot of my Christmas cards this year.

Also used the "Leafy Branch" die cut in plain green card and green glitter card. Then added some red berries for more sparkle.

I shall also add this to both the Simon Says Flickr group challenge "Favourite technique"  as Die cutting is fun and easy to do, also the Love Flickr Group challenge.

Li'l Gnome!!

I wanted to take part in the Christmas Kickstart Challenge again and this time the theme is "Festive Sweet Treats"  The only thing I could find in my Christmas box that was suitable was the pre-cut candy cane.  So I decided to pair it with a die cut Gnome made using the Simon Says "Li'l Gnome".

I also used the Simon Says "snowflakes" and "Holiday Frame" set.
I shall also add this card to the Simon Says Flickr group challenge "Anything Goes"

This gnome die is a real favourite of mine .

Have a great week
