Winter Wonder!

I wanted to try something a little different with this Simon Says Forest Border embossing folder.  I used kraft card in the folder and the sponged lightly with a white ink pad. I then highlighted the trees with a shimmery gel pen.

I also used the SSS falling snow stencil and some nuvo glimmer paste lastly adding the gems and gold die cut sentiment.

this card was extremely hard to photograph as it is really shimmery and sparkly, I love the subtle look.

I shall add this card to the current SSS Flickr challenge "Winter Wonder"

Have a great week

Christmas Wreath!

I have just got the Ring Wreath Die from Simon Says and couldn't wait to have a play with it!  First I cut the die three times in sliver and pink glitter card and also white card. I then placed the pink wreath onto a square card blank and added pink, white and solver circles, I also added a mixed selection of gems to some of the circles.

I then stamped and embossed my sentiment in silver and added some coiled wire underneath it.

I am adding this card to the challenge at the Simon Says Flickr group "Creating for the holidays".

Enjoy your week

Snowflakes!

Another simple Christmas card using an embossing folder and dies from Simon Says Stamp!

The background folder is called Crystal Distortion and its so versatile, suitable for all sorts of cards.

After embossing I added loads of gems to the cross points for added sparkle, I then cut a few different snowflakes in white and pink glitter card and layered onto my card front. finally adding the silver embossed sentiment.

Stencil and Emboss.

The "Lets Squash it" challenge this month is to use a "Stencil and Emboss"  For my card I first used the SSS Spring Boho Circle stencil and some Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks to on my rectangular die cut blank.  I then used the Cuttlebug swirl frame embossing folder running just the bottom edge through my machine so that just the edge was embossed.

I then added some Altenew painted flowers layered up to add some dimension lastly adding the Birthday die cut in gold.

Making this was a change from Christmas cards but I need to get back to it as my daughter needs a few.

Glitzy Christmas Trees.

Using my new SSS Crystal Distortion embossing folder again, I know this is going to become a favourite.  This time I used some red mirror card so its very shimmery but a pain to try and photograph.

A very simple card to make, I just added the die cut trees from SSS Chunky Trees set and a gold embossed sentiment from Hero Arts.

Merry Shaker Card!

I really enjoy making shaker cards and know that this Chunky Merry die from Simon Says would be perfect for one.

First I die cut the base using the background section of the Merry die, then I randomly stamped some snowflakes over the card and embossed with some glittery powder. I then added the acetate and glues on the merry die cut.

I used a selection of red, gold and silver sequins for the shaker element. this was a very simple design to make up, but I love all the shimmer.

Its a dull old day here, perfect weather to make me want to stay in my craft room!
Have a great day

Two more Christmas Cards!

I have just got a new embossing folder from Simon Says called Crystal Distortion and I couldn't wait to have a play with it. My first card is using the L'il Gnome die also from Simon Says layered up onto my embossed piece of white card.  I also added the glitter card base layer and lots of gems to the cross points of the background.

For the Gnome's hat I have used a snippet of patterned paper so am adding this card to this months Christmas Kickstart challenge blog.

I will also add it to the Simon Says Flickr group challenge "Creating for Christmas".

Next I used the embossing folder on some lime green glitter card which created a lovely sparkly card. I then added some die cut trees also from Simon Says , added some gems and love how this card is so glittery in real life.

I will also add this card to the SSS Flickr group challenge.

Gradually getting on top of my Christmas cards although I am bound to need more as my daughter usually claims a few!!

Have a great week

Christmas Slimline card!

A slimline Christmas card for a couple of challenges!  For this card I die cut my white slimline blank and then distressed with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean ink, I then used the Simon Says falling snow stencil and added some Nuvo Glimmer paste.

Next I die cut the Simon Says with the  Ho Ho Ho die and added to the card with some glittery die cut snowflakes.  The Penguin stamp is from Heffy Doodle and I have coloured with Zig markers.  Lastly I mounted onto a red card blank.

I am adding this card to both the Die Cut Divas November challenge "Slimline" and the SSS Flickr group challenge "Creating for the holidays"

Have a great week

Christmas box card!

After seeing a few box cards in the internet I decided to have a go and make one using stamps from Heffy Doodle and Clearly Besotted and the tree die from Simon Says. I stamped coloured with Zigs and die cut my images. After making my box I then covered the edges and top with snippets of patterned paper.  The back was distressed to make the cloudy sky using a homemade cloud stencil.

I really had fun putting this together, a bit time consuming but worth the effort and it folds flat to fit in a standard envelope.

I am adding this card to the current Christmas Kickstart challenge "Christmas Snippets" and also the Love handmade cards Flickr Challenge.

Have a great weekend.

Christmas Shaker!!

I love making shaker cards and Christmas is the perfect excuse for lots if bling and sparkle! To make this card I used the older "Pile of Gifts" die from Simon Says which I cut into a circle blank and added some acetate.  I then distressed a large rectangle in the area behind my window with a rainbow effect. I used lots of pastel sequins for the shaker element.  The Holly is cut with the Poppy Stamps "Holly side Strips" die and coloured with Zigs, I then added the sparkly berries and a gold embossed sentiment.

I have also been busy over the last few weeks making a large cot  quilt and with the left over fabric I also  made a  pram quilt for my daughter who is expecting her first baby this month, also our first grandchild so very exciting!

I have only made two other quilts so kept it simple with a square design.

I am really pleased with the end result.
