Christmas Shaker

Had fun creating this Christmas shaker card with stencils and dies from Simon says.  First I die cut a square with the "Stitched Square Dies" and then distressed with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks.  I then used the "Falling Snow" stencil and just used Salty Ocean for the snow.

Next I die cut the tree using the "Chunky Trees and Holly" set and fixed some acetate to the back of the hole.  I then added the three die cut tree shapes. after choosing my sequins I foam taped the top to the card base.  lastly adding the sentiment.  I am adding this card to the Simon Says Flickr group challenge "Use a Stencil".

I love these Distress Oxide inks together, such a pretty colour.

I am still convalescing but did manage to walk a mile today and also picked some lovely wild blackberries for a crumble.  Slowly getting there!  Enjoy your week.

Snowflakes!

Time to crack on with my Christmas cards,  I have made quite a few throughout the year but I always need more!
I decided to make a mini slimline card so die cut the front panel and distressed with Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio Oxide ink.  I then used the Simon Says Falling Snow stencil with more Salty Ocean ink.

I always have a box of snowflakes already cut for my cards, so I just arranges a few on the card base and added some sparkly gems and sentiment.

Love this colour combo and i am sure its going to feature a lot in my Christmas cards this year.

I am adding this card to the current SSS Flickr challenge "Use a Stencil"

Happy Birthday!

The "Lets Squash it " challenge this month is to use an embossing folder with numbers or letters and sand it. I only have one large folder with letters and its this cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder. In my stash I found an old pack of Whitewash Colourcore cardstock and chose this gorgeous pool colour.

I embossed and sanded it down to reveal the core colour and adhered it to my pool coloured card base.

Next I stamped and coloured this cute elephant from the Heffy Doodles "Elephant of Surprise" stamp set and stuck with the balloons to the card using foam tape to add more dimension.  Lastly I added the glittery stars.  Quite a simple card but fun to make!
I shall also add this card to the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Lots of Layers"

I am gradually recovering from my operation and managed to walk to the end of the road and back today. Slowly does it but I am missing my long walks in the countryside, hopefully soon!!

Layered Flowers!

I have been missing for a while as I have been in hospital an operation ( not great timing with COVID as it meant no visitors ), hopefully its sorted now.  The hospital staff were amazing and still so upbeat considering their current workload.  The convalescing means that I have to isolate and stay on really light duties for about 4 weeks.  I am hoping card making counts as light duties otherwise I am going to get very bored.

I had started to make this card a while back and it was perfect to get my mojo back in gear.

The background is the Simon Says stencil Spring Boho circle, I then added the Hi using Altenew's letter dies and some scrap patterned paper.  I then stamped and embossed elements from the Simon Says Spring Flowers set and fussy cut then coloured with Zigs.  I layered up and fixed to the card also adding lots of sparkly gems.

I shall add this card to the Simon Says Flickr challenge "Use a Stencil" and the SSS Wednesday Challenge  "Lots of Layers"

Have a great week

Autumnal Colours.

The weather is starting to feel Autumnal now and inspired by a field of sunflowers near here I made this thank you card using the Simon Says Gerbera Daisy background coloured up in yellows and oranges to look like the gorgeous field.  I made a mini slimline card and after embossing in white I coloured with Zig brush markers and added the strip of vellum with the die cut copper thanks sentiment.  Finally I added some sequins for sparkle.

I shall add this card to the SSS Flickr challenge "Fall Colours" and the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Stamp it"

Have a great weekend
