Over at the Hero Arts group Jacqueline has set a little challenge to get our card making kick started after the Christmas break. The challenge is to case a card that you have been wanting to case and never got round to it!! This is my card and its a CASE of this stunner by Iwona! I decided to go with blues as I have some new blue inks that I wanted to try, not really a summer colour as I would normally go with warm colours such as red, pink or orange. I am pleased with the finished effect though.

A Couple More Cards..
I have had time to make a couple more cards before I put away my Christmas stamps and Dies for another year!! In my local Lidl I found some modelling paste and decided to try it on my cards with a brass stencil that I had. I am really pleased with the results and quick to make too, you just need to let the paste dry for a couplke of hours. I then added some stickles for shimmer.
This picture shoes the dimension created by the paste.
Mysecond card just uses the snowflake Memory Box die and some glitter card and pink vellum!!
Over at the Hero Arts flickr group Heather and Linda organised a Secret Santa which was great fun, I posted my gift to Barb in the USA and got this fabulous gift back from Deb also from the US. Love her cute card and ATC and I have already put the snowflake die to use!!
This will be my last post for a week due to the busy holiday season so I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my followers a very Happy Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!!

CAS Snowflake
I love this Memory Box Snowflake die, such a pretty shape and so delicate looking. This is a very simple card made to look like a parcel, also as its quite flat it should be cheap to post!! I am adding this to the challenge over at "Addicted to Cas" which this week is "Snowflakes". also I am adding it to the CASology challenge "Ribbon" Thanks Judy for the heads up!! |
I still have a few cards to make and the time is running out!! I must get a move on!!

Lots of Cards!!
I have been busy this week with more Christmas cards, but have only been able to upload them today as We have been having serious computer issues!!! :0( They are still not fully sorted and the computer is going back to be looked at again tomorrow. That means I have also been unable to comment at the blogs I love to visit (Sorry Ladies)!!
This first card is another for the current Hero Arts challenge, the deadline is today so have just managed to sneak it in! This is for the category "A few of my favourite things" as again I have got inky with my Distress Inks!
I bought a couple of new dies this week and couldn't wait to try them out. The first was the Memory Box Christmas Bauble Die and I have used it to create a card for a work friend. She wanted a card for her hubby with hearts and baubles. The background card is embossed with the hearts folder from cuttlebug. You can just about see it here!. I am adding this one to the Die Cut Divas Challenge!
Another card using the same die, not a great photo as the card is red but looks pink here!!
The next two cards are using my new snowflake die, they are both based on a card Debby Hughes created for the Online card class that I have just done.
This one is a CASE from this stunner that Lizzy made.
I must crack on as I still have lots of cards to make and its now December! Hope you are enjoying your weekend, and I am sorry for the long post!

Wintry weather!!
The weather is quite cold here at the moment, but luckily no snow yet. I decided to ink up my Winter Town stamp again and try something a little different with it. I have added lots of stickles to the snowy areas but unfortunately its so dark and dreary that I can't get a decent photograph.
I am having alot of computer issues at the moment so DH has decided to get a new one, this means I am going to be offline for a few days. I hope to catch up with everyone's blogs next week. I also have some more cards to share.

Online Class Inspiration
This second card was inspired by this beautiful card that Lizzy made and is also taken form Day 5 of the classes and a card that Debby Hughes made.
I made this card to use up some scraps I had after playing around with my distress inks, the snowflake is really bright and sparkly but I couldn't seem to get a good photograph of it! I am adding this to the current challenge at "Die cut Divas"
I still have loads more Christmas cards to make and I am running out of time!!

Online Class Day 4
I have been having serious computer issues and have been told by my friendly computer expert that my computer is on the way out!! Hubby and I are hoping to get a new one next week but in the mean time I am struggling with a very sick computer, I have managed to watch another online class and have created these two cards based on the ones Shari Carroll made on day 4. I love her CAS style and even managed to stick to the non traditional colours!
The cards are alot brighter in real life but as the weather is so dark and dreary these are the best shots I can get. Hope ypou are having a better week than me and I am hoping to catch up with my favorite blogs soon. I am also hoping that I won't be off line for too long.

Online Card Class Day 3
I have made two cards today inspired by two cards that Shari Carroll created for the Holiday Workshop Online classes. The idea is to use lots of layers but to still have CAS cards with lots of white space. This first card is really simple and would be great for mass production!
This second card is made using stamping ( the chevrons on the card and the square die cut) patterned paper and chip board shapes. I love the shaped edge to the card front, I didn't have the die that Shari used so just drew around a plate and cut free hand. I love this effect and will definitely be using it again.
I have a fairly free weekend so hope to making lots more cards!!

Online Class
Another card cased from Day 1 of my online card class, this three fold card is based on Jennifer McGuires "Christmas Tree Card". I decided to go with the fold but add this snowflake tag shape to the front. The base is stamped with the same stamp as the snowflake base, the Hero Arts "Merry Background"
I am adding this to the current Hero Arts Challenge "A few of my favourite things" as I love to get inky and play with mixing my Distress inks.
Its been a busy this week at work and I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend!!

Christmas Village
I had time this morning to make another card using the pretty Winter Town stamp from HA, I only used a portion of it and also added the embossed snow to be able to cut out this tag shape, The ink is a Distress one called Seedless. I seem to be making more cards this year in unseasonal colours! This is another card for this months Hero Arts Challenge. "Deck the Halls!"
I just thought I would share what has been keeping me busy this week, I have been foraging in the local countryside for blackberries and rose-hips to make these drinks. The blackberry liqueur is delicious and I am saving it for Christmas, its perfect when the weather turns cold. The rose-hip is an old recipe, its packed with vitamin C and is meant to fend off colds. When I was little we were always given a spoon of rose-hip syrup every day during the cold winter months.
Back to school tomorrow for me and then the countdown to Christmas really begins!!

Snowflakes and a Wedding.
I have been busy today making a couple more Christmas cards, I have just got this sentiment set from Hero Arts after seeing it last year and regretting not buying it, doesn't it look lovely stamped in Pool ink!!
I have made two cards on the same theme but with different snowflakes. This lovely die is by spellbinders and you can mix and match the shapes to make lots of different designs. I am entering this card in the Die Cut Divas challenge and also "Anything Goes at Simon Says"
It also fits with the Hero Arts challenge "Deck the Halls!"as I have used Hero Arts Gems.
I then had a rush job of a quick Wedding Card for my friends son who called me to request a card, I had 30 mins to come up with a design and make it. (boys always leave things to the last minute!!) This is my CAS design and he was thrilled with it.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend, I am making the most of being in my craft room as its back to work on Monday after a week off!

A Big Storm!!
Well we survived the storm!! It wasn't actually that bad in Surrey we seemed to miss most of the high winds and there are only a few trees down near here, the worst of the weather was a little further north and lots of houses are without power.
This oak tree came down in Shalford and a large poplar tree came down in our village.
I went with my daughter to visit her school and this tree was partially blocking the road on the way there.
With all the leaves being blown around I decided to play along with the Tuesday Trigger challenge over at Moxie Fab World "Enthralled with Fall" although as you can see from the photographs we don't have those gorgeous colours with our falling leaves.
My card is very simple as I don't have many leaf stamps, just an old Hero Arts , I stamped a few leaves onto some scrap card and coloured and cut out, then mounted them on foam dots for some texture.
