CAS Christmas.

I am going away for a couple of weeks tomorrow to my daughters, she is moving house and I am going to help her with the packing.  I wanted to make another Christmas card before I left so decided on this CAS card using a die I won called Holly Stripes by Poppy Stamps.

First I die cut my background blank and ran it through a dotty border embossing folder.  I then cut the holly and placed it over the dots.  Next I added the hot foiled sentiment.

This was a really easy card to make and perfect for batch making , which I may have to do if I don't get a move on with my cards!

Hope you all have a good weekend , I am off to finish packing now.

Layered Merry!

I am addicted to using this Fruitful Berry die from Simon Says, its so pretty and really lifts a card.

For this I have stamped the Simon Says Outline Christmas stamp and embossed in gold , then I distressed with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean oxide inks. I die cut with a base die and then cut lots of berries in white and green.  Then I added some water coloured berries to the dies.  I layered up the Chunky Merry die also from Simon says with some foam tape and then added all my berry branches.

Had fun with this one ,  I shall add it to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Christmas" and the Die Cut Divas challenge "use layers".

I am trying to get lots of my Christmas cards done as I am away for a few weeks helping my daughter pack as she is moving. Busy time ahead!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge!

I had another chance to play along with the Christmas Kickstart Challenge in memory of Janis Woolbright. I went hunting again on Pintrest for some free digital images and found this cute image of a fun loving cat and his mistletoe.

I printed the image and coloured with my Zig markers, then distressed the background with Oxide inks.  These cute little hearts are a die set from Simon Says, I have layered some on foam dots for added dimension and then added the pearl berries. Next I mounted it on some red glitter card and then a white background run through an old star embossing folder.

Its been fun making these cat themed cards and I have someone in mind to receive them at Christmas.

Hopefully the sun is coming out here today so I am off to Lyme Regis to sit on the beach and maybe have an ice cream. Have a great weekend.

Layered Dies.

I am back on my Christmas cards this weekend and made this with lots of layered die cuts so I am adding it to the Die Cut Diva challenge "Layer a Die Cut"

First I ran my card base through a really old dotty border embossing folder, then I cut the star dies using the Pink Fresh die, I also cut lots of berries and leaves from the Simon Says Fruitful Berries set and coloured with Zig brush markers.

I then layered it all up at the side of my card adding some sparkly gems and a computer generated sentiment. This one was difficult to photograph and the embossed dots are hard to see but it does have a lot of texture.

I will also add my card to the LOVE Flickr Group challenge this month.

I plan to have a busy card making weekend, hoping you all find time to do some creating.

Topsy Turvy Christmas Cat!

The Christmas Kickstart challenge this month is in honor of  Janis Woolbright   Janis ran the annual Cat Lovers blog hop but sadly passed away in January.  Although I never took part in the hops I love to take part in the Kickstart challenge so I have made a cat themed card.

My card is made using a digital image that I have printed and coloured with brush markers, I then die cut the image and distressed with Oxide inks. I added some sparkly gel pen to the tinsel and holly to give it a bit of glitz.

I then added the red snowflakes cut using a Simon Says die and layered everything on a piece of glittery patterned paper. The sentiment is computer generated.

I enjoyed making this card and hope to play along again later in the month.

Christmas Berries !

I am so behind with my Christmas cards this year as I completely lost my card making mojo this summer, Sunday was a really dull wet day so I got a start and made a few cards.

This one qualifies for the Die Cut Divas October challenge "Layer your Dies" First I die cart a card base and ran it through a really old embossing border folder with leaves and berries on.

Next I cut and water coloured lots of berries and leaves from the Simon Says "Fruitful Berries" set, I then arranged them in a bunch on my card using glue and some foam dots for texture. The sentiment is computer generated.

Another wet misty day here in Dorset so hopefully I can make a few more cards for my stash.  Have a great week.

Autumnal Colours

I needed some more birthday cards in my stash and I have also decided to try and use up some bits from my scrap box so here is the card I created. I shall add it to the Die Cut Divas challenge which this month is anything goes.

I die cut my base blank and then distressed it with a variety of Distress Oxide inks before running it through the Simon Says Spun Glass embossing folder. I then added the Flower Cluster die cut also from Simon Says.

I routed through my scraps and found these stamped flowers that I had coloured and not used.  The sentiment is hot foiled,  lastly I added the pearls.

I shall also add my card to the Simon Says Flickr Challenge "Stamping"

Have a great week

More Christmas Snowmen!

I had time to make another card for the "Christmas Kickstart Challenge" today and decided to make another snowman scene using the Heffy Doodle stamp set "Wanna Build a Snowman". I found this border snowflake die in a charity shop last year and its so useful.  I cut two one in sparkly PP and another in card which i then layered together.

I then cut the snow background and embossed with a folder I also found in the shop.  The snowman are coloured with my copic markers.  The reindeer is from a really old set from Clearly Besotted.  I layered the frame on foam dots to give some dimension.

Thrilled to have another card in my box but there is a long way to go before I catch up.  I am going to add this card to the LOVE flickr group challenge as well.

Hope to do some more crafting tomorrow as the weather is not looking good!

At last I am Crafting!

After a long summer when I really didn't feel like crafting I think I am back in the groove and have made a card for the "Christmas Kickstart Challenge". The theme this month is "Chillin with my Snowmies!"

I am so behind with my cards this year and I really need to get moving!!

I distressed a card base panel with Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio Oxide inks and ran it through the Simon Says Faceted Snowflakes embossing folder , then I sprinkled with some sparkly embossing powder and heated.

Next I die cut the SNOW letters using  Altenew die alphabets twice and glued for height.  The snowman and penguin are from the Heffy Doodle "Wanna build a snowman " stamp set.

I am also adding this card to the LOVE flickr group challenge "Anything Goes" and the Simon Says Flickr group challenge "Stamping"

I hope to be back with more cards very soon, in the meantime I have a lot of catching up to do in blog land!!

Birthday Cocktail!

My best friends daughter was 40 this week and I wanted to make her a special card. I used my Quadrant die cut and hot foil plate form Pink Fresh Studios to create the shimmery background which I layered up on a background I made with Distress Oxide inks smooshed to make an ombre effect.

The cocktail stamp is from a set by Tim Holtz and its one I have used a lot, I water coloured the image and fussy cut before layering on my card . I then added the sequins and the hot foiled Happy Birthday.

I am adding this card to the Die Cut Divas April challenge " Water Colouring"as the cocktail is water coloured.

Looking forward to a visit from my daughter and granddaughter this weekend and hoping that the weather improves a little bit!

Have a great weekend
